🚨Just like that all sessions for Year 2 at our facility are done. 🚨

As I sit here and reflect, I have all sorts of emotions running through. Gratitude, respect, elation, excitement, nervousness, and others I can’t even describe. Truth is I didn’t think I’d make it because this year was rough for many reasons, so much so, I reached out to my broker to look for potential opportunities to take over our location or sell the business. When in the throes of things sometimes you don’t or can’t see past in front of you. Every time I get closed to the edge and ready to throw in the towel, something big happened with one of our players or I’d get a message from a parent to remind me of WHY I chose to open the facility to begin with. Conversation with trusted friends and mentors made me realize that I spent way too much time acquiring clients on top of everything else I was doing instead of focusing on delivering the best possible development for my current clients.

After a conversation with my accountant, I made the decision to adjust our prices and subscriptions model. I’ll be honest, I was very reluctant because I was afraid I was going to loose more clients than I already was and yeah I did. What also happened was that our MM Basketball families rallied and said “whatever we need to do, we got it” I was floored and man I’m grateful. They adjusted to the new costs and subscription model with no complaints because they see and understand the value we bring to our players.

I look at all the new milestones our guys reached this year, I can simply shake my head in happiness. Here are a short few milestones just this year
- EP becoming more vocal leader and all around better player
- Saima received an offer
- Hayden’s growth in a short time, wow
- the Perkins twins continuing to develop
- Brayden battling through major leg surgery and still showing up working on other skills while legs heal
- Big guard Vibe playing JV as incoming 9th grader
- B-Ro making a name for himself playing for the Heat and name top performers
- Wilder & Andrew increasing their shooting by almost double digit.
- Amaya to BSU next year
-Graham learning to play with pace
-Levi improving his footwork when he’s making his moves and getting into his shot
-Clara playing under control
And many more……

The one thing that happens here that I’m super proud is the camaraderie between the parents when they’re here. Our parents will make new parents feel at ease when/if they feel nervousness from new ones. They truly make us the family we are.

Year 2, lessons learned, milestones reached, success attained.

Year 3. The marathon continues….

Another alumnus reached one of their milestones.

This is Amaya, Amaya played for me as a 7th graders on my 8th grade AAU team. I didn’t bring her up because she was tall, I brought her up because I saw something in her, how she processed info, the way she moved on the floor, how she was as a teammate, it also helped that she wanted to be better. I spoke with her parents about training her and they trusted me.

Picture on the left was one week after our AAU season was done we began working, then incoming 8th grader, we attack her development both as a post and as a big guard.

There’s been some ups n downs on her journey as it should be but she stuck to it because she knew where she wanted to go, she didn’t let the noise get to her, continued to work.

Picture on the right is her announcement last night that she committed to Bemidji State. She reached that milestone.

You can have the talent, you can have potential but neither will get you to your destination. Discipline, work, trust in yourself and your development, ignore the noise, perseverance will.

On the road to 10k these two are improving that shooting percentage and becoming better shooters.

We build our workout and continue with growth. Watch the previous video and it’ll make sense. We also include previous series we worked on to ensure reps so it’s not we work on it then we put it to the side.

One this drill we’re focusing on on getting to the shot . Focus is on the shot, no flinching, shot fake, not worrying about what the defender is doing and locking in on making the shot.
