CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that is broad, general and scalable for all ages and athletic abilities including the elite athlete and the limited senior adult. We focus on functional movements – like pushing, pulling, squatting and lifting – combined with strength training, cardio and basic gymnastics. CrossFit can be defined in many ways. CrossFit Girl Benchmark Week • June 15–20
It’s that time again—Girl Benchmark Week is coming to OVC. Six days of classic CrossFit tests, a chance to see where you’re at, and an opportunity to retest the workouts that define our sport.

We’ll finish the week with “Nancy” at the St. C track on Saturday. To make it all work, Saturday’s class will shift to 9:30 am so we can move equipment over after weightlifting.

If you love testing benchmarks, pushing your limits, and training alongside a fired‑up group, this is your week. Let’s get after it.

Mastery of movement is a lifelong pursuit — and one of the things that makes CrossFit so powerful.

It starts with mechanics: learning how to move well, with positions that are strong, safe, and efficient.
It grows through consistency: showing up, practicing the same patterns, and building trust in your own movement.
Only then do we layer in intensity — the speed, load, and challenge that make CrossFit such an effective training program.

But the real magic happens in the community:

It’s the coach who gives you one small cue that suddenly makes a lift feel smoother.
It’s the member who chooses quality reps over rushing the clock.
It’s the shared pursuit of virtuosity — doing the common uncommonly well.

Mastery isn’t about chasing perfection.
It’s about moving with intention, celebrating progress, and letting better movement unlock better fitness.

This is where skill meets effort.

Let’s congratulate Jack Evans (), Jamie Byrum (), and Brennan Huls (.connectionchiro) for becoming the newest members of the OC 1000, 250, and 2250 Clubs!

Jack has been a member of OVC since March of 2021. He is easily one of the most enthusiastic, hard working athletes that we have. He pushes himself day in and day out, and is always the first person to introduce himself to new faces. Jack is consistent, genuine, and understands the importance of community, and we are proud to have athletes like him within our walls.

Jamie joined OVC in July of 2024. She’s a staple of the 6am class alongside her husband, Chancy. She has really developed a passion for weightlifting in her time with us. In fact, the Byrum’s both attended and obtained their Burgener Strength certifications to continue developing their craft as athletes. Jamie doesn’t shy away from the things that challenge her, and she does all of it with a smile on her face.

Brennan’s time at OVC has dated back to June of 2012. He may already be a member of the Legends Club, but his decade of being JR’s workout partner should place him in a category of his own. Brennan is steadfast in his attendance and his effort on the floor. He shows up early, he does the little things, and he remains a pillar of our community for the last 14 years.

Just wrapped up a gymnastics coaching course as part of my continuing education, and I’m excited to bring what I learned back to OV CrossFit. Our goal is simple: help people move better, build stronger foundations, and feel more confident in gymnastics skills.

You’ll start to see some positive shifts in how we teach and coach these movements. Sometimes it might feel like taking a step back — but that’s exactly how real progress starts.

If you’ve been curious about CrossFit or want to learn gymnastics in a supportive, coached environment, OV CrossFit is a great place to start. Come give us a try.

Starting now, we’re adding a THIRD weekly class for our athletes ages 60+.
