Hey everyone!

I’m so excited that eight kids are testing for their first-ever Half Yellow Belt tomorrow! I’m going to make a big announcement at the test that will make the kids extra happy and reward their hard work. I’m one seriously proud instructor right now.

I will be making some other policy updates and sharing more news soon. I have a pending large announcement and will wait until after that to share everything.

I also told the kids some very exciting news: I’m throwing them a Street Edge Kids Christmas Party! Parents, grandparents, and guardians, mark your calendars for December 12 from 10:00 AM to Noon. I’m going to go all out with a surprise they will always remember. There will also be a Christmas Costume Contest (shh, don’t tell them, but every kid will win something), we will watch A Charlie Brown Christmas, and much more. Full details coming soon.

My professors used to say that if one person has a specific question, many more have the same one. I’ve been asked more than once 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹.

𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘶𝘱. Either your kid or yourself. Likes, shares, and reviews help too.

I am being transparent about this month. This summer was very slow and people are still settling into the new school year. That has created a real gap right now. I have significant positive changes coming that will make a real difference for the school. Those changes are not fully in place yet.

Starting next month and from then on, the school only needs to cover its own operating costs.

Welp. BOB was feeling a little left out with all the excitement of eight students testing for the first ever Half Yellow Belt Rank. I decided that he has put in a lot of work since we opened almost six months ago and he insisted on a red belt. I tried to tell him that Red Belt doesn't exist in American Street Edge Self-Defense Systems (might it someday though?) and he didn't care. So, I present to you, the newly promoted Red Belt BOB!

This is an exciting week for the school!

I am so honored, blessed and excited as, this Thursday, EIGHT students are testing for the newly created Half Yellow Belt rank in the American Kenpo Karate Kenpo Karate Kids' Program! I just opened up the box of their belts that got delivered and I'm so happy for them!

I have never had a group of kids train so hard and realize this isn't some few weeks/just a phase type activity and I decided I needed to reward their hard work formally. After this they will go on to first be Level 1 Certified, and then go on to earn their yellow belt in the coming months!

Besides the test, another very cool thing: Next week is our SIX MONTH ANNIVERSARY! Lots of exciting news to come, keep checking back!

You can bet that one very proud instructor will be posting many, many pics and videos giving these amazing young warriors the credit they deserve. I fully anticipate continuing to be so proud and amazed by them when they absolutely destroy that test!

I was told that opening on Labor Day is a waste of time and no one would show up.

I'm offering two free 30 minute individual adult trial lessons on Labor Day!

One at 04:00 PM and one at 05:00 PM to the first people to claim the spot.

Anyone with a kid age 6 to 12 who has been thinking about bringing them in to try it out - now is the time! Their trial class will be FREE!!

🥷Class starts at 06:00 PM!

Just show up a few minutes early to fill out a quick form. Athletic style shoes are required and the parent or guardian must stay for class and agree not to call out during class (it is distracting and can cause anxiety for other kids when an unknown adult is calling out).

Help me prove the doubters wrong that it's worth it to open up, run the air and be prepared to teach!

Just had to share this: an absolute legend of Kenpo, Mr. Larry Kongaika Kenpo Ikka just took the time to talk with me a little and even looked over the American Street Edge Self-Defense Systems page!

Attached is a screenshot with what he publicly commented on in our thread! Staying true to the art while also innovating can be a lonely place, getting validation like this...it is hard to express how much it means. Absolutely amazing, this is one of the best moments in a nearly thirty year Kenpo career!
