Wheat's Game Calls. Our little call making business is a family affair & is located off BayouRd in Southeast Louisiana Our heritage also plays a role in our company.

Our little call making business is family ran by dad Eddie Wheat, mom Missie Wheat, son James Wheat & daughter, Cheyenne (Pickle) Wheat.
​ I guess you can say the game call idea was planted years ago by Pop, Eddie Wheat's dad. In the early 1970's Pop would find pieces of slate from an old abandoned fort in Shell Beach, Louisiana, cut them into squares, plane them to a certain thickness, add a han

d carved striker & voila', he was talking turkey. Along with his Belgium Browning he was a force to be reckoned with. Although our sound and construction have come a long way, we sometimes take that call into the fields and give it a yelp or two. Descended from the early Isleño settlers, we come from a long line of trappers, decoy carvers, pirogue builders and early duck call makers. Our family has always made many of our own hunting products but we never considered selling anything. Then one day someone walked into our tiny little wood shop and bought a duck call. We decided to do a local show at the Los Isleños Museum and the response was overwhelming. It's an honor that we are getting to share our family's passion & heritage with others. Y’all help me wish my Pop a happy 84th birthday. Me and this Dude been at it for quite some time and in three months we’ll be at it again. He made us both a new bow for the up and coming season and with a little luck one of us might get lucky. Hunting deer with a Primitive Bow made by my Dad and seeing his face when it finds its mark is something I wish every bow hunter could witness. This year will make our 50th in the woods together and what a time it’s been. “”””Happy Birthday Pop””””. We Luv Ya….
