Hello my Dear Salty family,
I can’t believe this summer season is coming to an end. I’ve missed all my paddle people this year. It’s been hard stepping away from the thing I love doing the most, but I’ve had to prioritize a family health crisis.
This is going to be a very personal and emotional share.
I’ve struggled with going public with this for a few reasons. It’s humbling and I’m still somewhat in disbelief. Sharing it makes it feel more real, and the words I’m about to say still feel so foreign to me.
Our son, Justin, was recently diagnosed with advanced Stage 5 kidney failure caused by a rare genetic disorder. He needs a kidney transplant and lifelong medical care.
Our family is in search of a living donor and in need of financial support as we navigate what’s to come.
After much thought, prayer, and consideration, we have created a Support Page for Justin.
Justin is only 19. He’s got his whole life ahead of him.
We would be incredibly grateful if you would take a moment to visit Justin’s Support Page, read his story, and find out how you may be able to help.

With your help, he may have a better chance at the life and future he deserves.
We are full of hope and incredibly grateful for this community. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers, kindness, support, and for simply taking the time to learn about what our family is going through.
This is not the end of The Salty Paddle, but as a family run business, we have had to change course to focus on helping our son. We will continue to book privately with the understanding of our limited availability.
Sincerely,
Mady
