Protein isn’t just for post-workout shakes — spreading protein evenly across your day boosts energy, supports muscle repair, and helps control hunger. Aim to include a source of protein at every meal and snack: eggs or Greek yogurt at breakfast, lean protein or legumes at lunch, a balanced dinner with fish or tofu, and a protein-rich snack like nuts or cottage cheese between meals. Even distribution helps your body use amino acids more efficiently for muscle maintenance, steady blood sugar, and better appetite control, which can support weight and performance goals. Small swaps—adding a scoop of protein powder to smoothies or choosing hummus and veggies—make it easy. Consistency matters more than a single big protein meal.

Was asked today who invented the Smith Machine !!Jack LaLanne and the Smith Machine

How and why the Smith Machine came about: The Smith Machine was built by bodybuilder Rudy Smith, based on a back-of-the-napkin sketch that he and famed fitness guru and gym owner Jack LaLanne brainstormed together at dinner one night: a way to perform a heavy barbell squat without the need for a spotter —someone to help you safely re-rack the weight if the lift goes awry. LaLanne, surely one of the 20th century’s greatest fitness influencers, is often given sole credit for inventing the Smith Machine, which contains a barbell fixed within a rail system, prevents the lifter from falling over and allows the weight to be re-racked at any point with just the twist of the wrist.

Jack LaLanne was particularly concerned that, as weightlifting and gyms were becoming more popular in the 1950s, the general public would not be able to safely lift barbells.
