This week, Danyel, one of our Yellow Belts, is breaking down the Cartwheel Pass!
The Cartwheel Pass is a dynamic guard pass used when your opponent is controlling distance with their legs and making it difficult to pass traditionally. By cartwheeling over the guard, you can bypass their frames, avoid dangerous leg entanglements, and land in a dominant position.

Competition training looked a little different today. 💪🔥
We mixed in calisthenics and an obstacle course to challenge our athletes in new ways and help improve their jiu-jitsu. Building strength, endurance, coordination, balance, and mental toughness outside of traditional drilling translates directly to better performance on the mats.

Huge thank you to all of our students who stepped on the mats at CompNet Florida today! Your hard work, heart, and dedication showed in every match.

We brought home a LOT of gold, silver, and bronze medals, but more importantly, we showed what our team is all about — support, toughness, and unity.

Proud to announce that our school took home 1st Place overall! 🏆🥇

Thank you to all the coaches, teammates, and families who came out to support. Days like today are built through the effort everyone puts in every single week.

Now we celebrate… then back to work Monday! 💪

Learning how to safely bring the fight from standing to the ground is a huge part of jiu jitsu. Beyond the technique itself, these lessons help build timing, balance, coordination, confidence, and discipline.

🦵 Single Leg Takedown
A single leg focuses on attacking one leg of your opponent. You’re isolating one base point and forcing them to balance on one leg.

🦿🦿 Double Leg Takedown
A double leg attacks both legs at the same time. You’re removing both supports at once, so it’s more about forward pressure and momentum.

The kids had a blast practicing setups, entries, and finishes while also learning the importance of control and taking care of their training partners.
Strong takedowns. Big smiles. Lots of learning.
