Summer is here, and that means Professor Matt Thornton is returning to SBG West Virginia for another outstanding two-day seminar on August 1st and 2nd.
This year’s seminar will focus on the Vale Tudo Guard. While the seminar is titled “Vale Tudo Guard,” the concepts and principles taught apply universally across Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in both gi and no-gi formats, as well as self-defense and mixed martial arts.
Professor Thornton has spent decades refining and systemizing these guard skills through his training and study with Master Rickson Gracie, Professor Henry Akins, Professor Chris Haueter, and many of the world’s top BJJ and MMA athletes and coaches. The result is a highly effective, principle-based approach that helps practitioners develop a deeper understanding of guard retention, control, sweeps, submissions, and overall positional dominance.
Whether your goal is to improve your sport Jiu-Jitsu, enhance your self-defense capabilities, or develop a more complete MMA guard game, this seminar will provide valuable insights and skills that can immediately elevate your performance.
If you’re serious about improving your guard game, this is a seminar you won’t want to miss.
