I’ve been asked several times this week so thought I would address it here for those of you we haven't spoken with. After some soul searching and reflection over the past year Dan and I have decided that we will not be returning to teaching lessons or clinics. After 2021 we hit burn out pretty hard and took a year off to decide how we wanted to proceed and the truth is that the opportunity to have our lives back a little bit did not tip the scales in favor or returning to teaching though we both found it rewarding.
So, what are the plans for Lucky Duck Ranch? We want to continue to be a place where like minded horseman can gather and share laughs and horsey time. We want to continue to grow our own horsemanship. We also want to be able to enjoy this place and this life we have built! So we will continue to offer clinics from top quality clinicians where you are invited to come participate as a rider or as an auditor.
We have two clinics scheduled for this summer. The first is with Richard Winters scheduled for July 28-30. The second is with Lyn Ringrose-Moe September 22-24. There may be a couple rider spots open for Lyn’s September clinic and we will advertise that as the spring progresses. Auditors are always welcome and day fee to audit is 35$/day.
Dan and I want to personally thank everyone of you that have ever ridden in a clinic or lesson with us. The decision to not teach moving forward was only difficult because of the wonderful people we have met and how hard they dedicate themselves to the pursuit of advanced horsemanship. Now it’s time for Dan and I to focus on our own horses and our own goals and enjoy this amazing life we have here at Lucky Duck Ranch. We look forward to seeing many of you down the road and wish you the best in all of your pursuits.

We have two clinic opportunities for you this summer at Lucky Duck Ranch. We are proud to welcome back horseman, Richard Winters to the ranch for a 3 day horsemanship/cow work clinic. Richard is a fantastic teacher and just a heck of a nice guy who excels at getting the very best out of horse and rider. Whether you dream of that run down the fence or just getting the most out of your trail buddy, you will enjoy learning from Richard. July 28-30th.

We will also welcome Lyn Ringrose Moe back for a 3 day clinic. Lyn has been sharing her love of classical riding principles and the message of kindness and the principles of soft feel here at Lucky Duck ranch for several years. She is a wealth of knowledge and can get more out of small changes in your rider position or aides than you would have thought possible. From Cowboy Dressage to classical dressage and WE, Lyn can help any horse and rider looking to refine and advance their skills!. September 22-24th.

Camping and overnight pens are included in your clinic fees. Please message us for more details or to reserve your rider spot. Auditing will also be available for both clinics.

We have invited Nonny here this year for the focus of Cowboy Dressage principles of soft feel for the western performance horse. We have a couple spots open for our first clinic of the year July 9-10 with the Queen of Cowgirls, Nonny Largent. Nonny's clinic here at Lucky Duck Ranch this year will be focusing on the fundamental skill that will help you and your horse be successful in any arena. I've asked Nonny here personally to help me and Kit get ready for our run at the Green Mile but this clinic will be about the little things that make great horses even greater! Nonny has been a trainer, coach, and judge since 1987. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Nevada, Reno and she was the coach at the University of California, Chico from 1990-1992. She is a Cowboy Dressage Recommended judge, clinician and trainer.

During her career, she has had the opportunity to work with many different breeds of horses. As a youth and amateur, she showed Arabians, Half Arabians and Quarter Horses. As a professional, she has coached many youth and amateur riders to AQHA All-Around Championships and shown many horses to Circuit and Regional Championships.

Nonny has been a judge for many different organizations, including Cowboy Dressage. She is fair and knowledgeable and is always willing to help the exhibitors. She continues her education as an official and as a professional frequently attending seminars and clinics.

Nonny believes in open lines of communication between the horse and rider and strives to help her students be successful so they can truly enjoy their equine partners .Her emphasis is on a balanced seat and using the legs and hands together to obtain a willing and trusting partnership.

What a great weekend sharing the passion and rekindling the flame of Cowboy Dressage here at Lucky Duck Ranch. It’s always inspiring to spend time with Eitan and Debbie and revisit the dream that became a discipline that defines a lifestyle. There was magic here at the ranch this weekend and we were lucky to be a part of it.

We are excited to welcome Eitan and Debbie Beth Halachmy to the ranch this weekend! We are looking forward to cooler temps and possibly some rain as well! Here is what you need to know for this Saturday!

Start time is 8:30. Plan to arrive 30 min early so that we can coordinate parking.

Bring your own chair. Seating will be in the arena around the court.

We will be outside in whatever weather Idaho offers that day. If you melt in the rain, bring an umbrella!!! 😉
