Transforming Lives Through The Therapeutic Power Of Horses A combination of therapeutic, educational and recreational approaches is used to achieve these goals.

Why Therapeutic Riding? Studies show the distinctive, three-dimensional movement of the horse provides the input needed to help a rider with sensory integration issues as well as

producing specific physical changes such as increased balance, muscle control and strength. Equine assisted activities such as grooming and tacking the horse help the rider with sequencing skills and fine motor coordination. The relationships that develop between riders and volunteers and staff provide a positive emotional experience. The horse provides many riders with the motivation to learn new things, and learning specific riding skills increases the riders self esteem. Founder Amanda Ross states, “Prospective riders are first evaluated with a private evaluation with CTREE program director and instructor to assess how CTREE can safely and effectively meet the rider’s needs. With the participation of the CTREE instructor, and the rider’s parents, caregivers and educators the rider’s goals will be established. It’s very exciting to be able to offer therapeutic riding services to the east end.”

Thank you to the Hisler family for hosting a wonderful evening at Juan’s Marketplace in Wellington, FL this past Friday evening, March 21, 2026! Two of CTREE’s teenage volunteers, Cassidy and Sadie Hisler, put together a dinner with raffles to benefit CTREE. Gathering their friends and fellow riders they got to enjoy a delicious dinner and fantastic items donated for the raffles including a Hermès bracelet, Charles Ancona Gloves, Exquisite Show Coat & Shirt, Euphoric Shirt, Le Ride Sweatshirt, and gift certificates to Fab Finds by Sarah, Parlanti Boots, Tutto il Giorno, Tack Trunk, and Jods. We are so impressed with the Hisler family and are so very grateful to them, Juan’s Marketplace, to all the donors to the raffle, and the guests. The donations raised are a big help towards our mission “transforming the lives through the therapeutic power of horses”.

Volunteers are the heart of CTREE. We could not run our programs or carry out our mission without them. We truly have so many amazing volunteers, but today we would like to spotlight Basia Kinglake. She is a veteran volunteer who has been with CTREE through many seasons! Basia is consistent, reliable, and a volunteer we can always count on. Basia brings warmth, calm and kindness to all of our lessons on Thursdays!! She always ensures our horses are well groomed and doted on. Thank you, Basia!

It was a fun and delicious evening for CTREE’s Friends & Family Dinner at on Wednesday, November 5, 2025! We honored Amalie Bandelier and Chris Ritchey for their past years of dedication as President & Vice President of the Board of Directors. Shannon Bozzuto Chant, CTREE’s Director of Equine Care and PATH Int Certified Instructor received an award for her many years of excellence transforming lives through the healing power of horses. Enjoy refreshments as we celebrate our volunteers. They are the corner stone of our programs and we could not do what we do with them! We are so grateful for their time and dedication.
