People are constantly asking me what I’m hunting with this season, so I figured I’d finally show off one of the setups.

I’ve got a few bows that’ll be rotating through the woods, but I have a feeling this PSE Sicario is going to get more than its fair share of tree time.

I’ve been playing around with this setup for a while, and I think I finally have it exactly where I want it.

2026 Hunting Setup:

🏹 28” draw length
🏹 73.8 lbs
🏹 Easton 5.0, 340 spine
🏹 385.5 gr total arrow weight
🏹 HIT insert + Match Grade collar
🏹 125 gr head
🏹 321.2 FPS average
🏹 88.3 ft-lbs KE
🏹 123.8 Power Factor

All of the CeraKote was done down the road at Area Tool & Manufacturing, Inc. by Ashleigh Barnes and Ethan Bates. They do an absolutely incredible job.

Yeah, yeah… 385 grains. I can already hear the mouth-breathing, heavy-arrow fellas typing. 😂

But here’s some simple, fun math:

385.5 gr @ 321.2 FPS = 88.3 ft-lbs KE
500 gr @ 275 FPS = 84.0 ft-lbs KE

More weight doesn’t automatically mean more kinetic energy. Velocity is squared in the KE equation, so speed matters A LOT. The 500 gr arrow does have more momentum, so I’m not claiming lighter automatically penetrates better. Weight alone just doesn’t tell the whole story.

This is exactly what I wanted. Fast, flat, plenty of energy, and it shoots incredibly well.

Now hurry the hell up, October. 🏹🦌

And yes… the red sight-light cord and crooked arrows in the quiver are driving me absolutely bonkers. 😖 The cord is getting rattle-canned, but I’ve got five different broadheads on those arrows, so lining them all up ain’t happening.

This is Kaylie! She came in the other day looking to upgrade into a more serious bow, so naturally we started putting bows in her hands.

She shot a few different options, including the new Mission Stryde, and that one made the decision pretty easy. It fit her perfectly and, man, these new Strydes shoot freaking nice.

We got everything set up for her and sent another happy archer out the door with a sweet new bow.

Remember the young lady who picked up a new bow from us a little while back? Kyle here was with her that day.

While we were getting her new bow all set up and shooting bullet holes, Kyle made a critical mistake…

He shot my PSE Sicario. 😂

Just like our buddy Jim, it didn’t take many arrows before he decided he needed one of his own. So we got one ordered.

Well, Kyle’s Sicario showed up today, and he came down to pick it up and take his new toy home.

Funny thing though…

He came in with a Mathews ARC, and the ARC didn’t leave with him.

Hint… hint… 👀

Miss Lauren here decided it was time for an upgrade before archery season snuck up on her, so she picked up a really sweet TenPoint Turbo S1!

She even managed to convince her sister to go halfsies since they’ll both be putting it to work this fall. That’s just good financial planning right there. 😂

And in case you’ve been procrastinating…

PA ARCHERY SEASON IS ONLY THREE WEEKS AWAY.

Yes. Seriously. THREE WEEKS.

Congrats, ladies!!! We can’t wait to see what kind of meat this bad boy puts on the table this year. 🏹🦌

And for everybody else, if your bow or crossbow still needs some love before season, now would be a darn good time to get it in here.

We’ve got another TechnoHUNT birthday party today, and apparently these two young men decided the best way to prepare was with NEW BOWS. 😂

Ethan was already talking trash in the shop, telling me he was gonna beat the snot out of Jackson on Jackson’s own birthday. The disrespect is incredible.

Poor Jackson had problems of his own. His father, Elliot Butler, talked me into playing a pretty mean joke on him while I was setting up his new bow.

We told Jackson they were only borrowing the bow for the party because someone else had put a deposit on it the day before.

Jackson was NOT impressed. 😂

We let him suffer all the way out to the truck before I finally ran into the parking lot and gave him the good news. The bow was his.

Mean trick? Absolutely.

Worth it? I think so.

Congratulations on the new bows, boys! Now we’ll see if Ethan can actually back up all that trash talk in the TechnoHUNT today. 🏹🎯

📢 IMPORTANT HOURS UPDATE

Beginning this week, Snow’s will be CLOSED ON THURSDAYS until further notice.

That means Thursday, September 10th will be our first Thursday closed.

The reason is pretty simple: we have too much work to do. 😂

We’ve reached the point where we need one uninterrupted day each week to shut the doors, crank up the music, and actually get s**t done for you guys and gals. Bow setups, tunes, strings, arrows, repairs, special orders and the mountain of other stuff that piles up when we’re stopping every few minutes to help someone at the counter.

This isn’t us working less. It’s actually the exact opposite. Thursday is becoming our GET STUFF DONE day.

All of our other hours will remain exactly the same.

I sincerely apologize to anyone who normally stops in on Thursdays or gets caught by the change before word gets around. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we try to keep up with everything you guys have trusted us with.

And seriously, THANK YOU for keeping us busy enough that we have to do this. That’s a pretty good problem for a little bow shop to have. 🏹

One-of-a-kind friends + one-of-a-kind bows = one-of-a-kind service.
That’s where Snow’s comes in. 🏹

Meet Ben Varee.

Ben and I met in 11th grade when we started Electrical Occupations together at the Vo-Tech. Right after high school, we both started down the path of becoming linemen and were each offered a spot at the Met-Ed school in York, PA. Ben took it. I didn’t. That put a few hours between us, but we’ve remained best friends ever since.

Anyway… fast-forward a bunch of years.

When Ben saw Mathews release the 1776 bows, he knew it was finally time to retire his aging Mathews ATLAS. Being 6’6”, finding a bow that actually fits the giant isn’t exactly easy. 😂 Luckily, the ARC34 goes long enough for him.

There was only one little problem. Ben and his family live all the way down near Harrisburg.

No big deal.

We decided to meet at their cabin in Benezette. I loaded my mini Snow’s bow shop into the camper, packed up everything we’d need to get him completely set up, and away we went.

Before long, the new 1776 ARC34 was dialed in and Ben was dropping 10s at 70 yards.

This one was pretty damn cool. Getting to set up a one-of-a-kind bow for one of my oldest and best friends, at his family’s camp in elk country, is one of those bow sales I’ll remember for a long time.

Of course Randy had to come with us since he’s the heart and soul of the shop. He even met an equally giant friend in Ben’s Malamute, Shadow. They became best buddies, just like their dads. 😂

Congratulations, buddy. And seriously, thank you for supporting Snow’s. Now go get some blood on that thing this fall! 🇺🇸🏹
