About the Boom Supersonoc XB-1 (Wikipedia)
"The Boom XB-1 "Baby Boom" is a one-third-scale trijet supersonic demonstrator designed by Boom Technology (dba "Boom Supersonic"[2]) as part of development of the Boom Overture supersonic transport airliner. Powered by three General Electric J85s, it is planned to maintain Mach 2.2, with over 1,000 nautical miles (1,900 km; 1,200 mi) of range. The XB-1 began taxi tests in December 2022,[3] and conducted its maiden flight on March 22, 2024."

Just because it starts up, doesn't mean you should fly it...

This is an unairworthy aircraft with no working radios, transponder, or ELT. Because it had been sitting for so long, it has grown mold and has corrosion all over the wings and fuselage.

With seasonal weather in the mode were it is 70F one day and up to 100F another, pay attention to density altitude and plan accordingly. This is another tragic review of a takeoff accident that happened to an experienced bush pilot. Basically this is a review of the NTSB report that offers some angles that the NTSB didn't dive into.

Again, the idea here is to illuminate situations that again, appear avoidable or offer alternative actions that could have saved the pilot and aircraft. The passenger survived.

Local news has been covering the emergency landing of the Sacramento Sheriff's 1981 Cessna U206G N6522Z in West Sacramento. No injuries reported after flipping while landing in a field after an engine failure. Flight tracking fr N622Z is not enabled due to LE activities of this aircraft.

"Get-There-Itis" claims more lives.
There is a real term and definition for "get-there-its". Psychologists call it "Continuation Bias".

From the Skybrary:

(Plan) Continuation Bias is the unconscious cognitive bias to continue with the original plan in spite of changing conditions.

This accident report below is an example of an avoidable accident. The aircraft (210C) impacted approximately 1.5 miles from the departure airport.

The pilot did not want to miss a demolition derby his son was racing in. He had a passenger and neither survived

Witnesses reported poor visibility, rain and a 100' ceiling. One witness reported the plane entered IMF approximately 1300' after departure. Weather reported lowest cloud condition at 500' AGL

The pilot was not instrument rated.

1.5 miles is 7,920 feet. The aircraft entered IMF at 1300 feet from departing the airport and impacted 6,620 feet later. From departure to CFIT in approximately 50 seconds assuming Vx for a 210C.

VFR into IMF happens far to often.

This is posted to hopefully vaccinated against "Get-There-Itis". It is bad enough the term is defined in aviation.

The non-instrument rated pilot’s decision to commence the flight in instrument meteorological conditions, which resulted in spatial disorientation and a subsequent loss of airplane control. Contributing to the accident was the pilot’s self-induced pressure to initiate the flight.
