An off-duty Contra Costa sheriff's deputy, who died in Lake Tahoe while trying to rescue a friend whom he thought was drowning, was from Sacramento, officials said.

Sac "Razorbacks" men's softball team is back playing again. This tourney was a one dayer in Manteca. The results weren't great (1-2)but every game was competitive and close. "Good to be a Hog"
