Occam Athletics We are a USAW certified weightlifiting club located in Sacramento, CA with a strong focus on competition. We also offer group S&C classes.

Occam Athletics is a nationally competitive Olympic weightlifting team based in Sacramento, California. Contact Coach Ben Claridad if you are interested in training with our team or are interested in one-on-one Olympic weightlifting lessons. We also offer Group strength and conditioning classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.

We had a wonderful time competing at The Kono hosted by and ! I’ve got a few videos I’ll post while I’m here in Baton Rouge coaching Rose Marie. I’m very proud of my group. Of those that competed Sunday we all had very consistent performances with a few first timers getting some platform time in as well.

A peek at the SEVEN YEAR SPECIAL Vintage Tee coming out this week. I’m 1/2 way tempted to buy a Trans Am or wood paneled van with a wizard painted on the side and grow out some pork chop side burns every time I put this thing on. Burnt umber ink on mustard yellow to let everyone know you’re down with old school, meat and potatoes strength training. I’ll post here and my personal account when these are live on our store.

We are celebrating our SEVEN years in business this month. This one in particular feels like an accomplishment so the gang and I would like to invite you to celebrate with us.

This Friday (tomorrow) and next Friday (the 10th) local weightlifters are invited to hop in our Friday 5pm group with NO DROP IN FEE. If interested: please RSVP on my personal account DMs , please arrive 5 minutes early and be able to work in groups for a sn**ch and clean and jerk workout (limit 5 people).

This Sunday June 5th at 1pm we are meeting at Oak Park Brew Co. all past, present members or just friends of the gym welcome! We’ll have some games/prizes planned and if you have an Occam Tee, wear one. The person wearing the OLDEST Occam Tee wins a free anniversary special tee coming out this month.

NEW SEVEN YEAR SPECIAL vintage tee is coming out this month. I’ll be posting both here and my personal account when they are available for pre-order.
