BSCC Members,
The golf course will be open to Members Only with tee times, starting tomorrow March 27 at 11:00 a.m. Please call and make a tee time if you plan on playing.
As you know the coronavirus has put limitations on how BSCC can operate for the time being. The Board of Trustees has contacted the State of Maine regarding the most recent Executive Order from Governor Mills. We have been and will continue visiting the Maine CDC website, and monitoring our local news outlets for information regarding the (COVID-19) coronavirus. Our number one goal is to provide our members with as safe a golfing experience as possible, with the understanding that no amount of reasonable effort can ever guarantee that public places are free of infectious agents. The Board of Trustees asks that you help mitigate risks by working together and being smart about how we enjoy a round of golf at our favorite course.
Although these parameters are subject to change at any time, we ask that you follow these rules out on the course. Failure to abide by them may impact your membership as well as cause us to close the course down. None of us want that.
If you have a cold or flu-like symptoms or have recently traveled home to Maine from another state or country, we ask that you not come to the golf course. Please wait a period of 14 days after your symptoms subside. For travelers, please wait a period of 14 days after your travel.
Closed: Clubhouse / Pro Shop / Driving range / Practice Greens / Restrooms
Golf Course Opening: The course is going to open to members for walking only. We will begin taking tee daily tee times at 8:00AM starting on Friday, March 27th. Riding carts and push carts will not be available for rent. As we research and learn how to properly sanitize carts, and work out staffing questions, a decision may be made to make carts available.
Members Only: Public play will not be allowed. Guests will not be allowed at this time.
Golf Operations:
With the Pro Shop not being open, we have put together policies & procedures that will make sure you enjoy your golf experience in a safe manner.
•“Park and Play” only: Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your tee time and be warmed up and ready to go. We don’t want groups congregating at the first tee. After and before your round, please do not congregate on the patio, in the parking lot or surrounding areas.
•Tee Time required: You must make a tee time before coming to the course. Tee time intervals will be 12 minutes apart to help alleviate congestion on the tee. You may make a tee time 4 days in advance. Making a tee time is necessary and please don’t come to the course without a tee time. The first tee will be monitored from inside the Clubhouse and a daily tee sheet will be posted on the first tee.
•Physical Distancing: It is important for all of us to practice six-foot social distancing at all times everywhere on the course. Any interactions with maintenance personnel should be done at a minimum 6 feet apart and no one is allowed to visit any of the maintenance buildings.
•Singles and twosomes: Please anticipate that you may be paired up during prime/busy hours.
•Scorecards & pencils: These items will not be available, record your scores on your cell phone or notepad that you bring with you.
•GHIN computer: The computer will not be accessible. The GHIN handicap posting season starts on April 15th.
Golf Course
•The cups have been raised above the putting surface to eliminate the need for reaching in to retrieve the ball or handle the flag stick. Your ball is considered holed when it hits the cup.
•There will be no bunker rakes, ball washers or water coolers on the course. You may take a preferred lie in the bunkers. Please smooth over the sand after you hit your shot.
•Please be responsible for your own trash, if you carry it in please carry it out.
We appreciate your support as we navigate these extraordinary times with so much at stake. Members are reminded that Golf is a game of Integrity. There will be zero tolerance to those who do not follow these guide-lines. Thank you for helping us make Biddeford S**o CC a safe place to enjoy a round of golf.
Sincerely,
The Board Of Trustees
