Congratulations to Alex Dunn on winning his fourth individual state championship this weekend at the Group 3A State Championship. He won the 300-meter hurdles and the long jump. This marks the 25th individual state championship for the Rustburg Track family.

As a coaching staff, we could not be more proud of what this team accomplished. The Rustburg Boys Track & Field Team finished 4th overall at the Group 3A State Championship, competing against the best athletes and programs in Virginia.

This achievement is a direct result of the dedication, hard work, and commitment our athletes displayed throughout the season. They represented Rustburg with pride and competed with heart in every event.

Congratulations to all of our athletes on an outstanding season and an incredible performance at the State Championship.

Event winners:
Alex Dunn 300 meter hurdles State Championship

Lucas Ripley placed 5th in the 1600 meter race

Alex Dunn Long Jump State Championship

Blake Matthewson finished 5th 110 meter hurdles and he placed 4th in the 300 meter hurdles

Justin Dunn placed 7th in the 300 meter hurdles

The 4x4 relay team consisted of MJ Rosser, Blake Matthewson, Justin Dunn and Alex Dunn placed 7th overall

Telaina Calloway placed 14th in the high jump and 19th in the long jump

Alexis Braxton placed 9th overall and she placed 11th in the 200 meters

The 4x1 relay team consisted of Alexis Braxton, Elizabeth Franklin, Taylor Hall and Telaina Calloway placed 14th

Event winners:
Alex Dunn won the 300 meter hurdles and the 110 meter hurdles

Alexis Braxton won the 200 meter dash and was runner up in the 100 meter dash

Blake Matthewson placed 3rd in the 110 and placed 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles

Lucas Ripley placed 3rd in the 1600 meter run

Telaina Calloway placed 8th in the long jump

The girls 4x8 relay consisted of Emery Crabtree, Ilana Justice, Melissa Bingham and Emerson Garner placed 3rd to qualified for the State Track Championships

The boys 4x8 relay consisted of Zeb Goldman, Noah Wells, Adam Wells and Braeden Hall qualified for the State Track Championship
