He lettered in baseball 4 years and was an All Conference, All State, and North/South All-Star selection during his career. Coach Laird still holds multiple records at KHS. In summer ball, he played for the Indiana Bulls Travel Baseball Organization on the 17's in 2003 & 2004 and received a World Series Runner-Up in 2003 and a Final Four Appearance in 2004. He played Division I baseball at the University of South Alabama for 4 seasons from 2006-2010 where he compiled career stats of a .319 AVG, 23 Homers, 41 Doubles, and a 110 RBI's. While at South Alabama, Coach Laird received his Bachelors Degree in Sports Management and a Masters Degree in Health with a focus on Exercise Science. While in Grad School, he served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Football and Baseball Programs and teaching Undergrad College Courses as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. After Grad School, in 2012, Coach Laird was hired as Director of Operations at a local Baseball and Sports Academy in Kokomo, IN. He trained local athletes and gave Baseball Instruction while creating Kokomo's Middle School Baseball Programs and then accepted a position as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Westfield High School in the Fall of 2012. At WHS, they enjoyed much success in all sports including multiple Top 10 rankings in many sports as well as a State Runner-Up run for the Football program a year into his programming as Head Strength Coach. Coach Laird started coaching in the Indiana Bulls Baseball Organization at the 16 Black and 17 Black age levels in 2012 before stepping away from coaching to coach his own young ballplayers and continue the major expansion of Laird's Training Facility in 2021. Since starting baseball instruction and training athletes in 2009 in Mobile, AL; Coach Laird wanted to open his business full time catering to local athletes who wanted to get better and prepare for the next level. He decided to start Laird's Training in North Central Indiana to offer those opportunities. He has trained multiple Division I Ballplayers, HS All Americans, All State Athletes in multiple sports, including baseball players, basketball players, softball players, wrestlers, football players, as well as Professional Baseball Players! Baseball Training Sessions are ran out of The Bullpen Academy in Russiaville, IN. Strength Training Sessions are ran out of the Garage Gym of Coach Laird.

Because of this we always post on Social Media with the hashtag to promote our athletes as Fighters on the field and in life; Hustling to get better and Dominate the field, the court, the mat, the classroom, and life everyday! This mantra we use is to show our spirit and work ethic is "Hustle, Fight, Dominate!" This is one of the biggest characteristics that separates us from other brands. What you see on social media and in person is real, and you can expect real results! In 2018 Laird's Training had Two Athletes from the Finish in the Top 5 for Mr. Baseball (Jack Perkins) and Miss Softball (Chase Epp)! The has had much success developing athletes at the MS/HS Levels through the Collegiate and Professional Levels.
