There’s a big difference between someone who gives hitting lessons and a coach who truly cares about their athletes — not just their swing, but their journey. After dedicating the past 17 years of my life to the game of softball, I’ve come to learn the difference between coaches who are in it to see you succeed, and those who are just in it for the money.
For me, coaching isn’t a job — it’s a purpose. I’ve committed the rest of my life to being the kind of coach I always needed. The kind that shows up, checks in, and pushes kids to be not just better athletes, but better people.
Softball is a game of failure, but when you have someone in your corner who believes in you, who goes the extra mile for you, it doesn’t feel as heavy. That’s what Big Dawgs Training is about — it’s built on heart, not dollar signs. It’s special because the kids are what matter most.
Watching Norah, Gabby, Eri, and Kyla shine this week was a full-circle moment. It reminded me that not only is my hard work paying off — theirs is too. All the late nights, the deep conversations, the sweat, the grind — it’s showing.
This sport has given me so much, and I thank God every day for it. I get to live my dream now — pouring everything I have into helping the next generation grow through this beautiful, challenging game.
Life is good when you’re doing the right thing, and even better when you’re doing what you love. I love this job, and I love these kids even more. 🤍💪🏼🐐
