Atlas is soaking up puppy life while we wait for his next round of shots (just the ones needed for adventure), and he’s already proving to be one smart little guy boy mastering “sit, stay and spin” doing amazing with potty training, and spending every spare minute playing with Nova and Jax.

For now, we’re trading mountain miles for couch cuddles and zoomies around the house… but adventure is definitely in his future. Zeke, you’d sure love this pup. 🩵

Day 2 with was mountain biking day.

What most people won’t see in the videos is that I almost sat this one out.

I started the day excited and confident, but somewhere along the way I got in my head about my footwear and convinced myself I wasn’t prepared enough. Honestly, I was ready to hang back, take photos, and cheer everyone else on.

If you know me, you know I love being the hype woman.

Thankfully, the people around me weren’t having it.

After a much needed pep talk, they reminded me that my footwear didn’t matter nearly as much as I thought it did. More importantly, they wouldn’t let me sit on the sidelines.

So I sent it.

The Slaughter Pen Skills Park was exactly what I needed to build confidence. Lap after lap, things started clicking. Then we headed to The Castle.

At first the berms and speed intimidated me. Then suddenly I was having the time of my life.

Weight off the seat.
Hips over seat.
Don’t squeeze your knees.
Don’t pull up.

Little by little, confidence replaced fear.

By the end of the day I was catching air, laughing nonstop, and completely understanding why people become so passionate about mountain biking.

A huge thank you to , , , and for the constant encouragement, coaching, and tips. You somehow managed to help me improve without overwhelming me, and that made all the difference.

This retreat keeps teaching me the same lesson over and over:

Sometimes the biggest obstacle isn’t the trail in front of you.

It’s the story you’re telling yourself before you ever start.
