Tonight’s the night!!! from 6-7 PM we will have our ETSD Team parent information meeting.

We will be placing students by age in the appropriate team, registration for our August Team Prep classes, and meet the director!

Can’t wait to see all of our future ETSD Team members tonight! If you are not able to attend the meeting tonight, that is completely fine. Please email, message us through social media, or text/call us. We will get you caught up on when rehearsals are set to begin.

Teams will be announced August 25th, where parents will sign team contracts and the official year calendar will be discussed for competitions.

Just a couple of days away!!! If you’re student will be at meet the teacher at Rusk ISD please come see us after you’re done!!

ETSD is proud to announce our first dance team!!! Mark you calendars for the parent meeting on August 3rd at 6PM in the dance studio.

No audition, team will be formed based on age groups. Teams will be announced on August 25th.

Team prep classes are during the weeks of:
August 7-12
August 14-18
August 21-25

Season starts week of September 5th and runs through May. Pricing for teams will be discussed at the parents meeting next Thursday.

Students will be placed in a temporary schedule during parent meeting. $60 for team prep classes.

🎉We are ONE Week away from our parent meeting for our dance teams!!!! 🥳👏

1️⃣No auditions, students will be placed based on age during our August Team Prep schedule.
2️⃣$60 for Team Prep classes. One hour class a week for 3 weeks.
(More details will be discussed at the parent meeting)
3️⃣Teams announced August 25th!

Dance Students: You cannot take the summer off dance and pick up where you left off. Dance is not a seasonal sport. These are dance facts of life.

If you take an entire summer off or take only a few classes here and there, plan to begin the fall having lost at least 50% of the strength, stamina, placement, flexibility, and mental focus that you gained in the previous year.

If you study dance 2-4 days per week over the summer, plan to maintain the level you created during the school year but not necessarily improve—unless that 2-4 days per week is significantly more than you are used to.

If you want to improve your dance immensely, attend a summer intensive in addition to consistent classes while you are home. Or stay home and attend a full schedule of classes at your home studio.

These decisions will affect your placement level in the fall and possibly your long term dance goals.

I intend no judgement here. I am pointing out the physical and mental demands of long term progress in dance. People have different goals with their dance training. Make sure that your actions match up to and will create your goals.

Dancing as a hobby is fantastic and gives you space to take longer periods of time off.

If you want a dance career, yes, go ahead and take a week or two for rest and relaxation. (It’s good for you.) But more than that hinders progress. The choice is yours.
