There is a difference between knowing a kata and knowing what you can do with it.
Kata gives us the movements. Bunkai, Oyo, and Hinka ask us to look deeper.
Why is the movement there?
What problem could it solve?
How does distance change it?
What happens when the attack changes?
How can the same movement become something different?
My seminar series is built around those questions. Rather than simply teaching a collection of applications, my goal is to give martial artists a method for studying kata, testing ideas, and finding practical possibilities within the movements they have practiced for years.
BUNKAI • OYO • HINKA
If your school, organization, or martial arts event is looking for a seminar that gets people thinking, experimenting, and seeing kata differently, I would be glad to talk with you.
