Putting the new chopper through its paces. I made this as a personal use bush chopper for removing invasive species of trees in our woods.
It is 19" (24" OAL) and over 2" wide in CPM-3V @60.5 hrc. Final weight 1⅞ lbs (30oz.) and balance point 3" ahead of the plunge (4.5" ahead of the first pin)
I ground out a fuller with an 8" contact wheel to remove some weight and hopefully improve its cutting performance. The edge is a primary flat grind with convexing down to less than .010" at the edge and sharpend at 15° per side.
This thing is alot of fun to swing and it cuts DEEP.
