Fish of the Week is the lake trout! Macks. The big boys of the deep.

Fun fact, they’re not even trout. They’re char, same family as brookies. And they get absolutely massive.

Right now is prime time because they come up shallow on the rocks to spawn. No downriggers, no fancy boat, just you and a shoreline at Fish Lake, Bear Lake or the Gorge.

Gear guys, bounce a white tube jig off the rocks. Fly guys, big white streamer, sinking line, strip it around dark and hang on.

Come grab a few tubes or streamers at the shop in Roy. We’ll tell you where we’d go.
