There is a certain 'allure' about a cool, spring morning in mid March that sets it apart from any place in time. The sounds, smells, sights, feel and changing foliage all chime in sync signaling a new season. There is one bird that sounds off at the start of spring like no other; he shows off his beauty for all to see, and if you take a walk through the dogwoods, you can hear his springtime song.

I love the spring as it grabs something inside me and clenches tighter than any other season. The allure and humbling feeling these birds can give us is something that I cannot explain. At least, I cannot express it in words, but I can show you...

My calls are, first and foremost, made to be used in the field hunting turkey's. If a call is made that does not have the sound of a turkey, it isn't used. I don't care how good a call looks, if it cannot talk turkey, it is useless in my hands. I make every call with the same quality and craftsmanship as I would have in my hands with me on a hunt.

Quick update for everyone who has reached out about a trumpet call—

First off, thank you all for the messages, emails, and support. The interest has been humbling, and I truly appreciate every single one of you.

If you’ve contacted me and haven’t heard back yet, please know I will get to every message and reply to each one personally.

Right now, I’m taking full advantage of the short spring season and spending my time in the turkey woods. Once the season winds down, I’ll be back in the shop doing what I love.

Just because I haven’t responded immediately doesn’t mean your message isn’t important. I appreciate the patience, support, and interest more than you know.

Built exclusively for the Lowcountry Game Bird Foundation and to be auctioned at the Lowcountry Turkey Invitational Banquet on April 9th, this handcrafted turkey call is a one-of-a-kind piece supporting wild turkey research.

This call is constructed from beautiful Cocobolo wood and features a durable PPSU polymer mouthpiece, paired with a brass ferrule stamped with “LCTI.” Designed in my signature short style, it offers both exceptional sound quality and a compact, comfortable feel in hand.

I have Paduak Glass over Glass, Peruvian Walnut Glass over Glass and Peruvian Walnut Slate over Glass. All come with a 2 piece dymondwood striker with a walnut top.
