This past three months I’ve experienced the passing of two of my inner circle of students, which has been like losing two close relatives. At the same time one of my earliest childhood friends loss his battle with cancer, and a former associate from my days as a bouncer at Austin’s famous Armadillo World Headquarters has also crossed the mortal plane of existence.
The Cat Stevens tune “Oh Very Young” keeps occupying my thoughts knowing full well as my seventy-fourth birthday arrives, that I am now actually on the short list!
I have tried my best to a make amends with those I’ve managed to p**s off while staying as honest as I can in both my thoughts and deeds.
I can honestly say I hold no grudges against anyone friends, family, or politicians. There is a huge difference between being diametrically opposed to one’s thoughts and ideas and actually hating someone. That’s what this Jesus guy has done for my soul!
I wish each of you that read this the warmest expression of LOVE I hold without conditions and a Very Merry Christmas ALONG with a Bright New Year.
This coming year marks our 50th year in September that the original Chi in Motion School at Bergstrom AFB started, my initial path to teaching. It has also existed under the names Central Texas Martial Arts and Soul Good Tai Chi. God willing the 50th Holiday Classic will be on Saturday DEC.14, 2024. Please if you can make plans to attend, I promise I’ll only request Steven to do a demo! It will also be my 75th birthday.
The Forty-ninth Holiday Classic is being held this year at Summer Moon Coffee in Avery Ranch on January 4, 2024@ 11 AM. Bring your best Nelson Kitamura story or share a photo…the date was picked mainly so that we can observe it late (as always was the custom with Sifu Nelson Kitamura!)
