Being capable of defending yourself from any position. In this drilling segment we had one person on bottom working their escapes with fresh partners coming in, always starting in mount. The person on tops job was to maintain position while landing hard strikes. Drills like these are important to become more efficient at defending yourself from positions of disadvantage when tired, overwhelmed, ext.

The addition was the use of the rear hand with the defensive habit of moving your head and feet after throwing the cross.
