They said strength fades with age. Mihály Huszka laughed…

Then set more masters world records than anyone in history.

You’re 30, 40, 50 already telling yourself “I’m too old,” “recovery’s gone,” “joints won’t take it,” “prime is over.”

Meanwhile Mihály Huszka, at 80+, was still snatching, clean & jerking, squatting, and deadlifting heavier than most guys half his age ever will.

- Coached 6 Olympians.
- 34 national champions.
- A lifetime building monsters.

And in masters competition he dominated, shattering world records left and right, proving age is bu****it when the mindset and system stay savage.

Check comments to break down Mihály Huszka’s insane journey—his coaching secrets, masters dominance at 80+, training philosophy that crushes “too old” myths, and why his approach builds lifters who never fade.

Proud coach moment 💪🧠
After 5+ years with us, two of our athletes are heading off to college this fall:

Strong on the platform.
Even stronger in the classroom.
This is what we love to see. Huszka Weightlifting Club doesn’t just build lifters… we build people who go after hard things.
Congratulations and . Go make it happen.

Box jumps build explosive lower body power. They also send a lot of people home with shredded shins and bruised confidence.

There's a cleaner way to get the same vertical power development, and it involves a pair of light dumbbells and a loading range most people never consider.

The catch is that going too heavy actually works against you here. There's a specific percentage of your squat max where peak power output is highest, and most people who load these either go well under or well over it.

Still chasing your vertical with box jumps and hoping for the best?

Check the comments for the full breakdown on dumbbell jump squats, the exact loading range for power development, and seven other box jump alternatives worth knowing.
