Focusing on meal structure is a great place to start when trying to improve your fitness.
Can other things like teacking calories work? Absolutely. But for most people, especially beginners, it can be more complicated to learn.
Instead, we like to focus on meal structure.
A simple place to start is building meals around a protein source and then choosing either
protein+carbs
or
protein+fat
(Yes, eat as much fruit and veggies as you want)
This gives you a simple way to eat without having to track all the food you eat day to day. It also helps create better eating habits that are easier to stick with long term.
As your goals become more specific and your experience grows, tracking calories may make more sense. But most people don’t need a more complicated plan. They need a plan they can follow consistently.
Start simple. Be consistent. Build from there.
