Got punched in the mouth today. No other way to put it. 🐍⚾️

Our first tournament and our first taste of pool play brought some tough lessons against a couple talented STX Top Gun and Marucci Elite clubs.

But this is exactly why we’re here.

You don’t grow by only playing teams you can beat. You grow by getting challenged, getting uncomfortable and finding out how you respond when things don’t go your way.

We saw the level. We saw some things we do well. We saw plenty we need to work on.

And tomorrow morning, we get another opportunity.

We’re going to share the good, the bad and the ugly along the way. This group is just getting started, and growth is in the journey, not the scoreboard.

Back at it tomorrow. Let’s see how the boys respond.

GAME DAY.

A new chapter starts this weekend as the Manchaca Mambas 9U take the field for our first tournament together.

We’re headed to New Braunfels for the Five Tool Labor Day Bash and two Saturday pool play games.

⚾ 4:45 PM vs. STX TopGuns
⚾ 6:30 PM vs. Marucci Elite CTX Abrahams

New team. New level of baseball. Same commitment to compete, learn and develop together.

First scrimmage in the books. 🐍⚾

This week we got together with some local baseball buddies for our first scrimmage as a team as both squads prepare for upcoming tournaments.

It felt good to compete again, put the boys in some real game situations, and identify a few things we need to clean up before tournament play. That’s what these opportunities are all about, compete, learn, adjust and keep developing.

Appreciate Texas Dynasty for coming out and getting some work in with us. Good luck to their boys in their tournament this weekend!

And a big thank you to the Mambas parents who helped get the field ready, brought tents and seating, and provided an awesome cheer section.

What better way to spend a Saturday morning than getting some work in with your teammates?

The boys took a team field trip to Marucci Hitter’s House ATX for a focused pitching clinic and hitting workout.

12 players. 3 cages. 1 hour of work. Pitching development, hitting rounds, fundamentals, and plenty of reps.

A big thank you to Coach K for working with our players and sharing his knowledge of the game. We appreciate his fundamentals-first approach and the opportunity for our boys to learn, ask questions, and continue developing together.
