8 Pieces of Brocade Qi Gong Workout:
Sitting version:
1. Close Eyes Quietly Sit:
Close your eyes and dwell in the depths \darkness of the heart. Firmly grasp the spirit\mind of quieted thoughts.
2. Hands Hold My. Kunlun:
Tap the teeth together 36 times, both hands hold Kunlun (a metaphor for the back ridge of the head) pulling forward against resistance.
3. Tapping Shots to Jade Pillow(acupuncture points 2.5" above posterior hairline and 1.3" lateral):
(With middle fingers in position and index fingers thumping) Left and right sound heaven's drum, listen 24 times.
4. Turn Head Again and Again [Minutely Arranging Heaven's Pillar(acupuncture points 1.3" lateral to posterior hairline and metaphor for neck muscles)]:
Minutely arrange and shake Heaven's Pillar. The red dragon (tongue) stirs up watery saliva. Drum rinse 36 times, creating a mouthful of salivary fluid. Swallow the mouthful in 3 parts, with the intent to send it to the navel chakra.
5. Pushing Massage to Kidney Point(Bladder acupuncture point 1.5" later to the point of second lumbar vertebrae) [Hand Massage the Essence Gate]:
Close energy \hold your breath and rub your hands warm. Back massage behind essence gate points, while using up this one mouthful of breath, and imagining a fire in the navel chakra.
6. Hands Turn Double Rings [Left and Right Well-bucket Pulley]:
Left and right hands row turns like a pulley, while both legs are allowed to loosen and stretch.
7. Pull-up Push-down Grab Feet:
Lock the hands as a pair and fake pulling\pushing something up, then lower head and grab feet repeatedly.
8. Cycle of Heaven's Slow Movements:
Wait for a while for mouth water (saliva) to arrive. Rinse again swallow saliva again, do this up to 3 times, swallowing mouth water in 9 segments, swallow with a gurgling sound. The hundred pulses distribute themselves. To finish the Cycle of Heaven's Slow Movements, imagine fire everywhere, warming the body. It's an old name (for) the 8 Pieces of Brocade.
