Collett Baseball is announcing the signing of our 16U Head Coach Michael Hicks. Coach Michael Hicks brings more than 30 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for developing baseball players both on and off the field.
A former standout infielder, Michael played American Legion Baseball for North Albany Post 1610 under legendary coach Ron Morrison before continuing his playing career at Schenectady Community College in 1990.

His coaching career began with the Albany Senators of the Connie Mack League, where he served from 1993 to 1997. Since then, he has coached at both the high school and elite travel baseball levels, helping players reach their full potential through skill development, mentorship, and a team-first approach.

His high school coaching experience includes serving as an assistant coach at Albany High School from 2007 to 2009, specializing in hitting and infield instruction. He later became the Modified Head Coach at Christian Brothers Academy in 2017 before leading the CBA Freshman team as Head Coach in 2018.

Throughout his career, Coach Hicks has also led several respected travel baseball organizations, including:

Clifton Park (2010–2013)
Adirondack Heat (2012–2016)
South Troy Dodgers (2017–2019)
Capital District Titans (2020–2021)
Upstate Sports Academy (2024–2026)
Over the years, his teams have consistently competed—and won—at some of the Northeast’s premier tournaments, earning success throughout the region and along the East Coast. Just as importantly, Coach Hicks has helped numerous players continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level.

Coach Hicks’ philosophy is built on player development, mentorship, positive sportsmanship, accountability, and open communication with both players and their families. He is committed to creating a competitive, team-first environment where athletes are challenged to improve their skills, build confidence, and develop the character necessary for success on and off the field.

🔥Collett Baseball is announcing the signing of our new 13U Head Coach and Hitting/Catching Instructor Joe Novenche🔥 Resume: Joe is a hitting/catching instructor who has been living and competing in the Capital Region. Growing up, he played for Clifton Park Little League, The South Troy Dodgers, and Hayner’s Barnstormers.
Joe graduated from Shenendehowa High School. While attending, he competed in baseball, football, and indoor track.
Joe attended Division I, Canisius college in Buffalo, New York. Shortly after, he transferred to Herkimer County Community College to play for the Generals. As a freshman, he started on the top 5 National team. While winning the Regional Championship and advancing to the World Series, he batted .412 with 4 homeruns and 39 RBI’s. Covid limited his sophomore season. He transferred to Division I UMBC in Baltimore, Maryland to complete his last 2 years.
In his time at UMBC, Joe completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Communications, as well as a Master’s Certificate in Project Management. After graduation, he remained on staff as Director of Baseball Operations. In that role, he spent time scouting, recruiting, and helping in the office, as well as practicing and in game coaching. He provided lessons for catchers and hitters at BASES hitting facility in Arbutus, Maryland.

Joe spent time in the travel baseball world, coaching and instructing for Upstate Sports Academy. He also has been active within coaching high school baseball, coaching modified at South Glens Falls, and assistant coaching at Saratoga Springs High School on the Varsity Baseball team. We are blessed in adding Coach Joe to our team.

🚨Big Announcement for Collett Baseball!🚨 We have officially signed Chris Hamilton onto the Collett Baseball team as our Lead Hitting Instructor. Resume: Siena University – Assistant Baseball Coach / Recruiting Coordinator

2024–2026

Served as Top Assistant and Recruiting Coordinator for NCAA Division I Siena.
Helped lead one of the biggest turnarounds in Siena baseball history during the 2025 season.
Guided the program to 22 overall wins (10-win improvement from 2024), the program’s highest win total in nine years.
Helped Siena earn 17 MAAC victories, matching the program’s highest conference win total in 20 years.
Played a key role in Siena’s first MAAC Tournament appearance in four seasons.

Coordinated player development programs, skill instruction, and daily operations for Siena Division I baseball program.

America East Player of the Week (2020)
Finished career ranked among Stony Brook’s Top 10 all-time in home runs, RBIs, doubles, and walks.
Career batting average above .300 while helping lead the Seawolves to multiple America East Tournament appearances and NCAA Regional.
Hit for the cycle during the 2018 America East Tournament and earned All-Tournament Team honors.
2018 did not have an error in 444 total chances at 1st Base.
Recorded a perfect 4-for-4 performance against LSU in the 2019 NCAA Baton Rouge Regional.

Schalmont High School

2014 New York State Baseball Champion.
Second Team New York All-State in baseball (2016).
Batted over .400 with a 7-1 record and 1.34 ERA as a senior. We are looking forward to Chris helping our players develop at the plate physically and mentally. 🔥
