Wendy Stroik
I Graduated from UWSP in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Wellness and double minored in Strength and Conditioning & Nutrition. While studying at Stevens Point, I also earned two certifications in health coaching (Intrinsic Health Coach and Therapeutic Lifestyle Coach). Before I graduated, I completed my internship in Chicago at Northwester
n University at their largest health facility on campus. After graduating, I worked at three Snap Fitness locations as a Personal Trainer and Health Coach, as well as a Group Training Coordinator at the largest Snap Fitness in Wisconsin. I moved to Minneapolis, MN in the fall of 2015 and worked as a Personal Trainer and Group Training Coordinator at the Target Center LIFETIME Fitness in downtown Minneapolis. I soon realized I missed central Wisconsin and moved back January of 2016 to open our own personal training business. We soon started to outgrow that space and recently moved into a bigger location in June 2018. We now train out of the Wausau Tennis Center at 928 McDonald St. It is one of the most functional personal training gyms we could possibly design. As of Spring of 2021, I’ve been personal training for 11 years, and I’ve been doing nutrition counseling since I was about 6 years old; my family members were my first clients. ;)
My passion as a Personal Trainer and Health Coach is helping women gain confidence and feel empowered by achieving their fitness goals and improving their health through proper exercise and nutrition. I specialize in programs for weight loss, strength and cardiovascular endurance, muscle development, flexibility, balance, as well as sport specific strength, speed and agility training. I use a variety of equipment and training techniques to keep workouts challenging and enjoyable. The main clientele I work with are women ages 18-70. Q: Are there gym fees along with the trainer fees? We (Andrew and Wendy) operate this business out of the Wausau Tennis Center for either 1 on 1 or small group training. Since this isn’t a normal gym, there are no membership fees. We create plans for you to workout either in your own home or at a gym of your choice. The only things you could ever spend extra money on is equipment and/or foods that we have available to purchase in our gym, but you never have to buy anything if you don’t want to. Q: Do you train both men and women? A: Wendy only trains women. Andrew trains men, women, and children ages 6 and older. Q: How does it work when I come to train? A: The address is 928 McDonald St. Wausau, WI 54403. We operate out of a studio above the Wausau Tennis Center. There is a large parking lot for you to park. When you come in the front door, you can either go down the hall to the women’s locker room at the end of the hall, or if you are already changed, you can come right up the stairs to the gym. If it’s your first time here, I’ll try to come down and meet you in the lobby if I’m not with another client. Q: What can I expect for our first training session? A: The sessions usually last about 45-60 minutes, but you can expect our first session to go anywhere between 60-90 minutes. (Please allot 90 minutes for our first session). This is the beginning of a lifestyle change so we’ll need some time to get to know each other and discuss your plan going forward. In our first session we do measurements, weigh in, and pictures. We'll go through your consultation form and I'll ask you any questions I may have in regards to past injuries, surgeries, aches and pains, goals you want to accomplish, habits you want to work on, etc. Then we will go through a short workout of basic movements so I can get an idea of how well you move. After that, workouts will get much more goal specific. Please make sure to bring workout clothes and a water bottle. Q: What forms of payment do you accept? A: Cash, check, and credit/debit cards, however there is a 3% fee to use a card. We now also accept PayPal and Venmo.
