🚨 STARFLEET PERSONNEL UPDATE 🚨

While the USS Winston Speedway remains in spacedock until July 3, we have received reports that our Race Director, Commander Ted Cooper Jr., has temporarily abandoned Race Control and will be piloting his own vessel into battle this weekend at Crystal Motor Speedway.

That’s right. After spending most weekends telling everyone else where to line up, what flag they’re under, and occasionally who made a terrible life decision in Turn 3, Ted finally gets to be the one behind the wheel.

If you’re looking for some racing action while Winston is on shore leave, head over to Crystal and cheer him on. Be loud. Wave. Distract him by asking for rulings on incidents from three weeks ago. Tell him Race Control is calling.

From all of us aboard the USS Winston Speedway, good luck Commander Cooper. May your warp drive stay hooked up, your shields remain intact, and may all cautions happen behind you.

📡 STARFLEET OPERATIONS BULLETIN – USS WINSTON SPEEDWAY 📡

Attention Winston Nation:

The USS Winston Speedway has entered scheduled dockyard maintenance and support operations with our allies from Electric Forest. As a result, our vessel will remain in spacedock until Stardate July 3, 2026.

While our crew is away, we encourage all racing enthusiasts to continue their motorsports missions by visiting our friends at Crystal Motor Speedway. Their crew is keeping the warp cores hot and the dirt flying while we’re temporarily off the star charts.

Support local racing. Support fellow tracks. And remember: the Prime Directive of motorsports is simple—if there’s racing nearby, go watch it.

We’ll return July 3 with two weeks worth of bad ideas, questionable decisions, fireworks, and enough racing chaos to make a Klingon nervous.

Until then, live long, prosper, and keep your foot in the throttle. 🖖🏁

🚨 STARFLEET TECHNICAL BULLETIN – LATE MODEL TIRE CLARIFICATION 🚨

Attention captains, crew chiefs, and anyone who has ever spent three hours debating tire compounds in the pits.

Maybe? Commander Adam Peterson recently brought it to our attention that our tire rule could be worded a little more clearly. Since clarity occasionally prevents subspace communications failures, here it is:

🏁 Winston Speedway Late Models will operate under an OPEN TIRE RULE.

Approved compounds are:
✅ Hoosier NLMT 3
✅ Hoosier NLMT 4
✅ American Racer equivalent compounds that are listed in the rules

Now, before anyone asks, no, this is not a new rule. This is simply Race Control translating the rule from “understood by some” into “understood by everyone.”

Also, special thanks to Adam Peterson for pointing it out. We appreciate the heads-up, although Fleet Records currently show no driver registration under that name, so we’re not entirely sure which starship he’s serving aboard. Regardless, the information was valid, and all teams should consider this your official clarification.

UPDATE FROM WINSTON SPEEDWAY

Several cadets have asked why Winston Speedway is shut down for two weeks when our friends at Electric Forest are only here for a few days.

The answer is simple: we leased part of our facility to Electric Forest, and a mission of that size doesn’t just appear overnight. Construction and setup officially kicked into high gear today. What you can see from the road is only a fraction of what is happening behind the scenes. Every day between now and the event, the operation will continue to grow as more equipment, infrastructure, and personnel arrive.

Could we have raced the week before? Technically, maybe. Practically, no.

By this point, a large portion of our pit area is already becoming occupied by equipment and support vehicles. If we had tried to run races during setup, both organizations would have been tripping over each other, racers would have had less pit space, and everyone involved would have had a much harder time accomplishing their mission.

So rather than create chaos… well, unplanned chaos anyway… we decided to stand down for two weeks and let our friends complete their deployment.

We will return to normal programming on July 3rd.

And trust me… two weeks without racing gives an Admiral entirely too much time to think. There are currently several questionable ideas, side quests, and completely unnecessary levels of entertainment brewing in the command center.

When July 3 arrives, all of those ideas are scheduled for simultaneous deployment.

What could possibly go wrong?

Winston Speedway will return July 3rd.
The facility may be rested.
The Admiral will not be.

🚀 Captain’s Log – Winston Speedway 🚀

Even though the Sprint Cars received orders from Mother Nature to remain docked in the hangar last night, we still had an entire night of activities loaded into the computer.

What was supposed to be a normal race program quickly became “Operation: Make It Up As We Go.”

We had cars on track, grudge matches, grocery getters, bus rides, side quests, and enough random entertainment that Race Control completely forgot what the original schedule was supposed to be.

At several points the staff meeting consisted of:

“What’s next?”

“I don’t know.”

“Send it.”

Honestly, considering we were making it up one lap at a time, I’d call the night a success.

Now a reminder to all citizens of Winston Nation: the Speedway will be departing for our annual assignment supporting our friends at Electric Forest for the next two weeks. We will return to our regularly scheduled programming on July 3rd for America’s 250th Birthday Celebration.

You are welcome to stop by the Speedway while we’re gone, but there won’t be much to see other than construction projects, empty grandstands, and the occasional confused seagull wondering where everyone went.

Also, a friendly warning: security around the facility tends to get a little serious when the crew is away. Let’s just say the people watching the place have fewer senses of humor than we do, and their customer service training mostly consists of “Can I help you?” followed immediately by “Why are you here?”

So enjoy the next two weeks, enjoy Electric Forest, and we’ll see everyone back on July 3rd for racing, fireworks, and whatever new chaos we manage to invent between now and then.

📡STARFLEET HISTORICAL LOG – FLATER MEMORIAL MISSION REPORT

As the suns set over Winston Prime during the Flater Memorial, we were honored to witness a piece of Winston Speedway history return to active duty.

A huge thank you to Lakes Truck & Trailer Repair, Mike Hazekamp, and Brett Glavich for bringing out the beautiful 1940s Dodge originally built and owned by one of Winston Speedway’s early pioneers, Bert Gregga. Seeing that classic machine roll back onto the grounds was like opening a time capsule from the Federation archives.

Moments like these remind us that while tracks, buildings, and equipment may change, the stories, memories, and people who built this place never truly leave us. For many, it was a chance to connect with a piece of Winston’s past and remember those who helped make this speedway what it is today.

We cannot thank Mike, Brett, and everyone involved enough for sharing this incredible piece of history with all of us. It made an already special Flater Memorial night even more meaningful.

From all of us aboard the USS Winston, thank you for helping keep the legacy alive.

STARFLEET ENGINEERING LOG – USS WINSTON

Attention Winston Nation,

The scoreboard is officially up — and ahead of schedule!

There were rumors that the Chief Engineer was informed he could not leave the speedway or his off-site engineering workshop until the mission was complete. Starfleet Command neither confirms nor denies these allegations.

Every request for shore leave was reportedly met with:

“Negative, Engineer. The scoreboard is not yet operational.”

After countless hours in Engineering, several emergency repair meetings, and what may have been a minor violation of intergalactic labor regulations, the mission has been successfully completed.

The scoreboard now stands proudly over Winston Speedway.

🖖 The Chief Engineer has now been granted permission to leave the workshop and rejoin civilization.

Mission Status: Complete.
Scoreboard Status: Installed.
Chief Engineer Status: Released from captivity.

Starfleet Neighborhood Advisory

Attention citizens of the Winston Sector:

It has come to the attention of Starfleet Command that some neighboring planetary systems remain deeply concerned with what occurs on our 40 acres of commercial territory of over 50 years.

As a reminder, if you attended a township meeting specifically to attempt to bust my balls, and then decide to call either my communicator or Galaxy Princess Crystal’s communicator to inform us once again that you disapprove of what we’re doing over here… there is a strong probability that phone call will not be the most productive diplomatic mission in Federation history.

For the record:

✅ Yes, we take in strays of all kinds.
✅ Yes, our parking lot has slowly evolved into a refuge center for wandering friends, race fans, and assorted space travelers.
✅ Yes, traffic around here is only going to get more interesting.
✅ Yes, we got a brand-new road, and frankly, it’s pretty awesome.

Instead of calling to complain, feel free to stop by and see the progress being made. There are exciting projects happening everywhere you look, and this weekend you can catch racing action Friday and Saturday.

While you’re here, be sure to wave to our neighbor on the southwest corner the one who parks a semi in the middle of the road. He’s become such a regular part of the story that we’re considering adding him to the Winston Speedway tour guide script. Rumor has it he’s still not entirely thrilled with the situation but did ask for free season passes twice.

Starfleet Weather Advisory – Winston Sector

Attention Winston Nation:

For those passing by tonight and noticing that Old Glory is not flying over the speedway, have no fearwe have not surrendered, switched sides, or negotiated a peace treaty with the Klingons.

Due to the high winds moving through this sector, Starfleet Command has temporarily brought the American flag inside for safekeeping. We figured it would be better to protect the colors than have them attempt an unscheduled mission to Canada.

The flag may be down for the night, but our patriotism remains at full power. As soon as the storm passes and conditions improve, the colors will once again be raised proudly over Winston Speedway.

We believe in freedom, horsepower, and occasionally avoiding unnecessary battles with Mother Nature.

The colors are merely taking shelter. They will rise again at first opportunity.
