On Thursday April 24th 2025, history and legacy met at the GSRT, Inc. 74th Annual Meeting.

The Marjorie C. Tolan Lecture—a long-standing tradition honoring leaders who’ve shaped radiologic technology in Georgia—was powerfully delivered by none other than Jim Sass, former GSRT President and lifelong champion of our profession. His lecture, titled “Looking Back to Look Forward: 8 Decades of Radiologic Technology in Georgia,” reminded us of how far we’ve come and inspired a vision for where we’re headed.

In a moment that perfectly bridged past and future, GSRT proudly announced the creation of a new honorary lecture in his name: the Jim Sass Honorary Lecture. Beginning next year, this lecture will be an annual tradition, delivered by an educator—symbolizing Jim’s enduring commitment to mentoring the next generation of professionals and educators in our field.

Jim, thank you for your words, your leadership, and your legacy. We are proud to carry it forward.
