Dear Parent/Students, welcome to the Shudo-Kan Black Belt Academy. My name is John Anderson and I have been practicing, teaching and competing for over 40 years. I currently hold a 3rd degree black belt in Shudo-Kan Karate. I decided to re-open my school after several years. My reason for doing so was to give back to my community. As a retired firefighter I never lost my passion for learning, teaching and helping. When I decided to re-open my school, I decided that I wanted to be able to reach as many people as possible interested in challenging themselves. Some never had the opportunity to pursue martial arts due to the cost. Making money is not important to me but my passion for teaching Karate is. I was given the opportunity to hold my classes as the Rossville Bennett Room. This is operated by the Rossville Ambulance Service. I have had several people ask why my monthly dues are so low. They are somewhat skeptical because the prices are so low compared to other schools. The reason I can keep the prices low is because I do not have rent or utilities. I want to make it affordable for families to do something together. All monthly dues collected are donated back to the Rossville Ambulance Service. To keep the monthly dues low, I ask that you help by purchasing your own Karate Uniform (GI). The cost of the uniform is around $25.00. When you advance to your next belt I provide the belts and test at no additional cost to you. My goal for each student is to have an enjoyable experience while learning what martial arts has to offer. Martial arts are designed to build discipline, confidence, leadership, physical fitness and self-defense. To become proficient in martial arts it takes practice, self-discipline and time. You never stop learning! No matter your age, s*x or current abilities martial arts can and will benefit you. Below I have listed the class schedule and monthly dues. Tuesdays- 6pm-8pm
Fridays- 6pm- 8pm
Every other Saturday 9am-11am
Monthly Dues
1-Student $30.00 per month
Family of 3 $75.00 Per month. (must be immediate family i.e. brothers and sisters, moms and dads)
Family of 4 or more $100.00 per month. (must be immediate family i.e. brothers and sisters, moms and dads)
