What a week in Des Moines! ❤️🥎
The USSSA 13U Midwest National Championships brought together 56 teams from across the region. We opened the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record in pool play, defeating Oklahoma Drive BTD (10-2), Nebraska Thunder Wendt (3-2), and Black Widows (5-4) to earn the #1 seed entering the Gold Bracket.
From there, every game had families on the edge of their seats. Our girls battled their way to a 3-2 record in bracket play, grinding out one-run victories over Gametime (5-4) and MN Moose (6-5) before an impressive 12-3 win over Nebraska Thunder Hayden sent us into the Final 12. When it was all said and done, we finished 7th out of 56 teams—an accomplishment these girls should be incredibly proud of.
But this week was about so much more than wins and losses.
It was about grit.
It was about resilience.
It was about heart.
It was about teammates believing in one another.
Special recognition to our Fab Five—Shelby, Lexi, Karys, Lincoln, and Lola—these girls were the heartbeat of this team all spring and summer. Through every practice, every tournament, and every challenge, they never stopped showing up for one another.
🥎 Lexi was outstanding in center field, covering tremendous ground, making highlight-reel defensive plays, and providing key offensive production whenever we needed it.
🥎 Karys had an incredible week at the plate, delivering clutch extra-base hits and driving in big runs throughout the tournament. She closed the season playing her best softball of the year—a testament to her hard work and perseverance.
🥎 Lincoln continued to come through in big moments, collecting timely RBI hits and competing with the grit and determination we’ve seen from her all season.
🥎 Lola once again proved to be the Swiss Army knife of our squad—making plays in right field, picking throws at first base, stepping in behind the plate when needed, and delivering the game-winning hit against Nebraska Thunder Wendt along with clutch RBI all week long.
🥎 Shelby was a warrior behind the plate, catching six-plus games in 90-degree heat. Her heads-up play, quick feet to foul balls, and throwing accuracy consistently shut down opponents’ running games and helped anchor our defense. She also added timely hits throughout the tournament.
A very special recognition also belongs to Maci, who joined us this spring and quickly became an invaluable part of our team. Her endurance in the circle this week was remarkable. She shouldered a tremendous workload against outstanding competition, battled through long days in the summer heat, and continually gave us a chance to win. She also contributed key hits and RBI throughout the tournament.
Finally, we are incredibly grateful to Genevieve, Adrienne, Alyvia, and Lila, who joined us for Nationals. Stepping into a team for one of the biggest tournaments of the year is never easy, but each of them embraced our culture immediately and made meaningful contributions. Whether it was quality innings in the circle, clutch hits, aggressive baserunning, or outstanding defense, this run simply doesn’t happen without them.

What an incredible way to close out our 13U season. 103 games played. 61 wins. Countless memories, friendships, and growth.
Thank you to our amazing families for every mile traveled, every early morning, every late night, and for believing in these girls every step of the way.
And to this special group of young ladies—thank you. We’ll remember the grit, the resilience, the laughter, the friendships, and the way you competed for one another until the very last out.
You didn’t just have a great tournament—you made this a week we will always remember. ❤️🥎
