When parents bring their kids to boxing, I try to set the expectation early: we’re here to teach them how to box and build real discipline. We’re not an amusement park, and we’re not here to make sure they have the time of their life every single day.

Sure, we throw in fun games occasionally, but 99% of the time? We’re putting in work. And real work isn’t always fun.

When your kid says they want to quit, don’t just pull the plug. Talk to the coach first and set a concrete goal for them to work toward treat that goal like the end of a season. Do not let them quit mid-season, after a tough sparring session, or following a bad day at the gym. Make them see it through to the finish line, and then reassess if they want to keep going.

Discipline isn’t built when things are easy; it’s forged when things get uncomfortable. That’s how you raise strong, resilient, and productive individuals. 🥊💯

Growing up around undocumented immigrants, I saw hard work in its rawest form: seven days a week, two jobs, and zero time to actually live. I was raised on the belief that if you didn’t have a job you were lazy, and if you worked two jobs you were a hard worker.

When I started coaching at 16, my world completely cracked open. I saw people who were wildly successful, had weekends off, and actually enjoyed their lives. Over time, I noticed something that hurt to admit: despite all those endless hours, my family wasn’t really advancing. While legal status and systemic barriers played a massive role, I realized another critical truth you can work hard, but still not be efficient.

My family was working hard, but we weren’t working towards anything. The successful people I was surrounded by had clear goals, blueprints, and direction.

That shift in perspective changed everything for me. I kept the same relentless work ethic I learned from my family, but I pointed it in a specific direction. Hard work gets you through the day, but directional, efficient work is what actually elevates your life.
Stop just working hard start working towards something. 📈

When your style is explosive, the marketing takes care of itself. 💥🥊
Promoters exist to sell entertainment, and nothing sells faster than an electric, crowd-pleasing fighter. If you’re stepping into the ring dropping highlight-reel knockouts and bringing non-stop action, you don’t need a complicated sales pitch your performance in the squared circle does all the talking.

- Instant Fan Attraction: High-octane fights turn casual viewers into die-hard fans in a single round.
- Guaranteed Card Placement: Promoters hunt for thrilling fighters to keep their audiences hooked from the opening bell to the main event.
- Organic Hype: Devastating knockouts create their own viral moments without you having to force a word.

Train to win, but fight to leave a mark. When you give the crowd a show, the fights will always find you. 👊⚡️
Who is your favorite fan-friendly fighter to watch for non-stop action? Tag them below!

Your hometown isn’t just where you train it’s your foundation. 🥊🔥
Skill will get you noticed, but a loyal local fan base is what gets you paid. Before the main-stage cameras roll, you need the early believers: the people who spot your potential from day one, pack the venue, repost every training clip, hype your name in everyday conversation, and step up to sponsor your journey.
Too many insanely skilled athletes stay overlooked simply because they haven’t built that local backing.
- The Original Believers: Your early supporters are the ones driving the momentum before the rest of the world catches on.
- Ultimate Negotiation Power: Packing venue seats with your own crowd gives you massive leverage at the contract table.
- Guaranteed Event Draw: Promoters give top-tier matchups to fighters who guarantee ticket sales and energy in the arena.
Skill opens the door, but a dedicated community keeps it open. Build your team, hold them close, and bring them with you to the top. 📈🎟️

Talent gets you in the room, but attention gets you on the main card. 🎟️💥

Promoters aren’t just looking for skilled fighters; they’re looking for box office draw. Having a strong social media presence proves you bring an active audience with you making you easier to market, easier to sponsor, and far more likely to move tickets on fight night.

- Built-In Marketability: A dedicated fan base turns every post into an instant event promo.
- Leverage at the Table: More eyes on your profile mean higher value to promoters and fight cards.
- Direct Ticket Sales: People buy tickets for fighters they feel connected to build the brand, build the crowd.

Don’t just train your craft; build your platform. The bigger the crowd, the bigger the fight. 📈🥊

08/26/2026

Promoters don’t just sign talent; they buy into a storyline. Showing the pedigree of competition you’ve shared the ring with gives them the exact ammunition they need to sell tickets, build hype, and showcase your accomplishments to the world.
- The Battle-Tested Record: Every high-level tournament and tough opponent adds instant credibility.
- The Built-In Storyline: Promoters need proof that you can handle real pressure before putting you on the main stage.
- The Selling Point: Outstanding amateur achievements give brands and matchmakers a reason to put respect on your name from day one.
Keep stacking the resume. The right eyes are always watching. 📈⚡️
Which upcoming tournament or fight are you using to stack your resume next?

08/25/2026

If you want to turn pro, these are 4 things you need in your corner besides a great team. The more you have, the better:
Solid Amateur Resume: Proves you have the foundation and ring IQ.
Strong Social Media Presence: Promoters look for fighters who can market themselves.
A Real Fanbase: Ticket sales open doors faster than talent alone.
High Knockout Percentage: Power sells. People pay to see finishes.
Which one do you think is the hardest to build?

Nothing stops Brandon, AKA “Caramel Macchiato.” ☕️🥊
I love how competitive this guy is the second it’s time to step in the ring, he completely locks in. Going into this tournament, he was coming off some medical issues and didn’t even have anyone signed up in his bracket. He still showed up, ready to work and hoping for a fight.
He got his opponent, secured the win by stoppage, and brought home his second championship. 🏆🏆
Thank you, Caramel, for allowing me to be your coach. 🦍⚡️

From starting out not fully committed to putting on his best performance yet in Orlando. 🥊
When Brandon first started competing, he didn’t give it his all, and it showed in the ring. But then he got his second wind, something clicked he dedicated himself to this lifestyle. Even through a few fights where he started slow and wasn’t himself, he didn’t fold. We went straight back to the gym, tackled our weaknesses head-on, and came to Orlando to showcase the real him.
Thank you Hunchito for listening to me. This is your first championship of many! Let’s keep building.

From losing 100+ lbs to absolutely dominating in the ring—Julio (aka Nacho Libre) is built different. 🥊💥
Every single task I set for him, he executes without hesitation, no matter how brutal it gets. I used to watch this man struggle just to get through a run. Now? He’s effortlessly putting down 4+ miles at an 8-minute pace, and that engine shows up when it counts. These other heavyweights simply do not have the gas tank to keep up with him.
Watching him take over the World Havoc Tournament was incredible, but honestly, seeing total strangers give him the respect and recognition he’s earned hit even deeper.
Keep building, Julio. You’re going to shine bright like the star you are. 🌟👑
