OCTOBER 10‼️

The TCG Fall Open is making its debut at The Cellar Gym.
This is a new bjj tournament geared toward youth and novice adults as well as matched super fights for advanced adults.

• Gi and no-gi for youth
• No-gi only for white and blue belt adults
• ADCC-styled matched super fights in the cage for purple belt and above

We’re really excited about this event and about being able to give more opportunities to competitors in the Twin Cities and the Midwest. We hope this is the first of many events for us to host like this going forward.

Tell your coach. Tell your teammates. Tell your friends to come watch and look out for registration opening soon.

Great work by our BJJ team at Grappling Industries last weekend! We ended the day with 3 bronze medals and 1 silver. Most of our adults were competing for the first time, and it was a solid learning experience for our athletes.

Our only youth competitor stepped up into the grey belt bracket. He won several matches and also faced some tough challenges.

Big thanks to our coaches and to Isanti Grappling Club for helping us out!

Sam wins via arm triangle in round 2!! Sam came out very calculated landing a number of kicks early. Got take down but worked his way back up to his feet in round one. Second round started by landing kicks at will disrupting his opponent. Ended up on the ground with Sam finishing with the sub. Congrats Sam!!

IBJJF Chicago recap!

Jared started the day with a triangle finish. His second match ended with his opponent being DQ’d for smothering, and he lost his third match by submission.

Liam won his first match by D’Arce, advanced through his second after his opponent was DQ’d for slamming, and lost his third by RNC.

CJ lost his first match by submission.

Robbie won his first match with a shirt choke and lost his next, finishing 4th in his division.

Kaci had a tough, aggressive opponent in her first match and wasn’t able to get the win.

Pam went undefeated and brought home gold.

Ben won his first match by points and lost his second by points.

A good weekend of competition for the team with plenty of mat time and lessons learned! We are headed home with 2 golds and 5 silvers.

Thanks to everyone who competed, coached, and supported the team this weekend and at the gym. Back to work!

Shoutout our members!

We had a great weekend of Muay Thai N.M.T.A. USA

We had 15 total athletes compete this weekend. 7 Youth and 8 Adults.

For many of them it was the first time they’ve competed in anything Martial Arts related. We’re incredibly proud of how everyone performed and showed up as teammates.

The hidden beauty in the NMTA is that athletes start to develop the feel of big Muay Thai tournaments and events.

Helping a teammate while for your turn to go up.
Experiencing the thrill of competing + immediately turning around and cheering for a friend.

These things create lifelong friends and practitioners of the sport. That’s what grows the sport of Muay Thai 🙌

Yesterday, our Cellar teens kicked off this year’s Give & Take Day by giving back to families in need through Feed My Starving Children Feed My Starving Children . Our group worked together to pack meals that will be sent to children and families in Uganda. In just one shift, our teens packed an incredible 109 meals! It was a great opportunity for them to see how teamwork and a little bit of time can make a real impact for others.

After putting in the work, it was time to turn up the fun at Valleyfair! The teens spent the afternoon soaking up the summer sun, cooling off at Soak City, and taking on some of the park’s biggest and wildest roller coasters. Between the rides, water park, and plenty of snacks and treats, the day was packed with laughs, adrenaline, and good memories.

This was one great year for our cellar teens;  giving back and creating memories is what Give and Take Day is all about!
