And last but not least, we have Laina Westenberg as our final senior spotlight! 🌟

I will be graduating from bluesky online school this spring and I’m attending Hamline university in the fall to study forensic science. I’ve been dancing at MYDT for 13 years and can’t believe it’s coming to an end so quickly. I have so many memories here, I don’t think I can choose a favorite. My entire time here has been the greatest adventure and I could not have asked for a better space to grow up in. I’m truly thankful for everything MYDT has brought me and am so proud to be graduating with this family!

We are so proud of you Laina, and can’t wait to see the great things you do this weekend and all the years to come! Congratulations! 🫶🏼

And for our next senior spotlight we have Naomi Waldusky! 🌟

I’ll be graduating from St. Anthony Village High School in the spring! I’ve been dancing for 5 years at MYDT, and it has become like a second home to me! My favorite memories are warm ups, decorating the dressing room, and the Lion King winter show. In the fall I’ll be attending St. Olaf College to study mathematics with a concentration in engineering studies.

Our next senior spotlight is Mya Olson-Williams! 🌟

I’m graduating from Highland Park Senior High this spring! I’ve been dancing for 11 years, with 9 being at MYDT. This fall I’ll be attending the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, double majoring in the Sociology of Law and Spanish on a pre-law track. My favorite MYDT memories are getting coffee with Emily, warm-ups before shows, and winning best choreo/musicality at competition!

Our third senior spotlight is Adelaide Marr! 🌟

I will be graduating from Roseville Area High School this spring. In the fall I will be attending St. Olaf college to major in Psychology and Dance with a neuroscience concentration. I have been dancing at MYDT for the past 12 years. My favorite dance memory is this years holiday party and all our inside jokes.

Our second senior spotlight is Cece Kram! 🌟

Hi I’m Cece and I am graduating from Saint Anthony Village High School. I have been dancing for 13 years, and 12 of those years have been at MYDT! Some of my favorite memories at dance include doing warmups as a kid with all the older girls, trips to punch pizza during breaks, and annual pre-comp sleepovers (during one of which five of us finished off three full-sized packages of oreos 🤭).

Next year, I will be attending the College of Saint Benedict, where I plan to study communications and data analysis! I’m super excited for this next chapter, but it’s very bittersweet because MYDT has been such an important part of my life. My peers and the faculty are like family to me, and I’m so grateful for all the memories, friendships, and experiences I’ve gained over the years!

Congratulations Cece, we can’t wait to see all the amazing things you accomplish and are so proud of you! 🫶🏼

As we head into recital week, we wanted to take the time to feature our wonderful graduating seniors as they head off onto their next adventures! 🌟

Starting off we have Leah Fabian!

I will be graduating from Irondale High School this spring! I am attending UW-Madison in the fall to major in microbiology and minor in dance. I hope to also join a dance club next year!! I have been dancing at MYDT for 12 years now and I’m going to miss it so much. My favorite memories from dance are hosting our annual friends-giving, having an amazing last competition, and group rehearsals!

We’re so proud of you, Leah, and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you will do! 🫶🏼

Summer dance is right around the corner, and we can’t wait to welcome new and returning students to Midwest Youth Dance Theatre! Summer is a great time for dancers to try new styles or for students to try dance for the first time!

Our summer schedule is filled with classes for dancers of all ages and skill levels - check out our full schedule on our page and website. We are also running some exciting specials for new students!

Two weeks since competition and two weeks out to recital! Congratulations to all of our dancers who competed at Triple S on wonderful dances and high score performances. A special shoutout to Emily and Group 8 for winning Best Choreography, along with Conley and Group 7 for their Encore performance!
