A good friend of JC's, Tom, shared this with me today. The moment I read his message and listened to his beautiful tribute, the tears started flowing.

It was another reminder of just how extraordinary JC was. He had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. No matter how busy he was, he always found time to send a thoughtful message, check in on a friend, offer encouragement, or remind someone they were capable of more than they believed. He spent so much of his life lifting others up, often without anyone realizing how much of himself he was giving away in the process.

The world was simply a better place with you in it. The hole you've left behind is impossible to ignore. Life is going to be hard to navigate, not just for me, but for the countless family members, friends, and lives you touched along the way.

We love you. We miss you. We laugh through the tears at the memories you gave us. And we will never forget you.

I never imagined I would have to say goodbye to you this soon. Every day without you feels incomplete, and there isn't a moment that goes by that I don't miss your voice, your hugs, your laugh, and the way you made me feel so deeply loved.

As difficult as this day will be, I can't wait to celebrate you one last time surrounded by the people whose lives you changed forever. I can't wait to hear the stories, see the smiles, and be reminded of just how many hearts you touched simply by being yourself.

You were so much more than my husband. You were my safe place, my biggest supporter, my adventure partner, and the love story I never knew was possible. In the years we shared together, you gave me a lifetime of memories and a love that will stay with me for the rest of my days.

This celebration isn't goodbye. It's a tribute to a life that was lived boldly, a heart that loved generously, and a man who made everyone around him better. You were truly one of a kind, and your legacy will continue through every life you inspired.

I would give anything for one more day, one more hug, one more "I love you." But until we meet again, I will carry you with me in everything I do.
