MEET THE INSTRUCTOR:
As an avid cyclist of 22 years, I did charitable cycling events such as Metric Centuries, Century, and The MS 150 Coast to Coast among other, I also took part in local events such as The Gap Gallop and The Meals on Wheels Tour. After participating in these types of events I continued to train and this is where I found my dedication to fitness. In February 2009, I became a St
ar 1 Certified Spinning Instructor through Mad Dogg Athletics Inc. The most acclaimed and well known spinning program worldwide. Throughout the next two years, I continued my education within the spinning program and in 2010, I became a Star 2 Certified Spinning Instructor. In 2011, I completed the highest level of training and education to become a Star 3 Certified Spinning Instructor. As with all accomplishments sometimes there are setbacks. In 2003 on a 75 mile training ride I was struck by a car on my bike. Not only did the accident leave physical and emotional scars it took away my dream of racing at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome. Due to the injuries I sustained, a whole year was gone and my window of opportunity for a racing career was lost. I was asked who my biggest influence is I answered, “Lance Armstrong.” Lance Armstrong is my biggest inspirational sports icon because he has beaten brain, lung and testicular cancer came back to the cycling world and won 7 consecutive Tour De France titles. Unlike Lance Armstrong I did not win 7 Tour De France titles but I did have one of my dreams come true. I was asked by Red Robin to race for them at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome. I accepted and was made anchor of the team it was one of the best moments of my life that I will never forget. Later that year I also competed in my very first team triathlon. In 2013, and 44 years old I began training for 5k marathons and an Iron Man Competition. While running a 5k race, shortly after it was completed I learned that I had a double fracture in my left foot which again, stopped my training but I continued to teach off the bike for ten weeks which made me a more developed instructor. I am bringing my wealth of knowledge, first hand experience as a cyclist into the classroom to gym members, runners, cyclist and triathletes. I meet all walks of life in each and every class room, sometimes I hear all the excuses in the world. Once they get through their first class with proper guidance, motivation, and inspiration, I help them all achieve their goals one step at a time. It was through my ten weeks of teaching off the bike that I started to develop the 2 Hour 50 Mile Fitness Challenge with seeing each person struggle with a different component in every class I started to focus on a more high intensity workout. They will get a tough focused workout that is sure to challenge and inspire them to perform to their best and give it their all. This is how The 2 Hour 50 Mile Fitness Challenge was born.
