To everyone who stepped onto the mats at the first annual South Texas Showdown: thank you.

You trained. You prepared. You showed up. And when it was time to compete, you put it all out there.

Whether you walked away with a medal or simply walked away knowing you gave it everything you had, you should be proud of what you accomplished.

Competition takes courage. It takes discipline to keep training when no one is watching, and it takes even more courage to step onto the mat and put your skills to the test.

We were proud to watch each of you compete and represent your schools. Thank you for making our first South Texas Showdown one to remember.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR MASTERS!

The success of the first annual South Texas Showdown would not have been possible without the incredible support of the Masters throughout our GTMA family.

To the Masters who made the trip to be there, sent their students to compete, or spent the day judging and supporting our competitors, thank you.

Your presence and support mean so much to us. You helped create an incredible tournament experience for our students and helped make the South Texas Showdown a true GTMA family event.

ONCE WMA FAMILY, ALWAYS WMA FAMILY.

One of the most special parts of the South Texas Showdown was having some familiar faces come back to support us.

A few families who were once students at Wyant’s Martial Arts volunteered their time all day Friday and all day Saturday to help make our tournament a success. The kids who once trained on our mats have now grown into adults. They grew up alongside our own kids, and we have been so fortunate to have a front row seat to their journey through the years.

To see them come back and give their time to support us meant more than we can say.

Martial arts may bring you to the mats, but the relationships you build can last a lifetime. At Wyant’s Martial Arts, you may leave the school, but you never leave the family.

Thank you for showing up, pitching in, and reminding us what makes this community so special. We are so thankful for each of you.

WHAT A SHOWDOWN!

The first annual South Texas Showdown was one for the books!

Congratulations to all of the competitors who stepped onto the mats and gave it their all. From the first round to the final match, we saw incredible skill, determination, sportsmanship, and support from our GTMA family.

A special thank you to our four Grand Masters who joined us and helped make this tournament such a memorable experience.

We also want to give a huge thank you to our volunteers and sponsors. Your time, hard work, and support played a huge part in making the South Texas Showdown a success. We truly appreciate everyone who helped behind the scenes and everyone who invested in this event.

WHAT A NIGHT OF JIU JITSU!

A huge congratulations to all of our competitors who stepped onto the mats for Friday night’s Jiu Jitsu Tournament! We are proud of everyone who came out, competed, and represented their schools.

A special thank you to Chief Master Henderson and Master Cox for bringing their students to compete and for continuing to support and strengthen the relationships within our martial arts community. We are grateful to have you and your students as part of the event, and we look forward to continuing to grow together.

Congratulations again to all of our competitors on an incredible night of Jiu Jitsu!
