BIRTHDAY SEASON IS OFFICIALLY HERE!

And we’re kicking off our First Northern Ice birthday celebration of the season with a huge Happy Birthday to #24 — Peyton Gomez.

When the ball is heading toward third base, Peyton is ready to lock it down! She brings a gritty attitude, nonstop hustle, and a fierce competitive spirit every time she steps on the field.

#24 isn’t afraid to get dirty, battle for every ball, and give everything she has for her teammates. Whether she’s making a big play, grinding out an at-bat, or bringing the energy from the dugout, Peyton is always ready to compete!

But what makes Peyton even more special is the teammate she is. She is supportive, encouraging, and always there for her Northern Ice family. She brings the fight when it’s time to compete and the support when her teammates need it most.

Today didn’t go our way on the scoreboard, but we faced some tough competition and our Northern Ice girls battled from start to finish!

It’s only the beginning of the season, and days like today are where teams grow. Every inning, every at-bat, and every challenge is an opportunity to learn, compete, and get better together.

The results may not have been what we wanted, but there were plenty of positives to build on. Keep your heads up and we are proud of you!

Yesterday, our Northern Ice girls had the opportunity to attend the Empowering Girls for Life event in Lombard.

It was an awesome day focused on confidence, leadership, friendship, resilience, and empowering young women to believe in themselves and their abilities — both on and off the field.

We’re proud of our girls for taking the time to learn, grow, connect, and support one another. Experiences like this are a great reminder that what we build together goes far beyond the softball field.

End of the Season. Forever Northern Ice.

What a year! As we take time to reflect on this year I’d like to take a moment to cap this year.

This team battled through every challenge, celebrated every success, and never stopped growing. Finishing 3rd in the Silver Bracket is something to be proud of, but it doesn’t define this season.

What defines this team is the grit, resilience, and selflessness these young ladies showed every single weekend. Every player brought her own strengths to the field, lifted up her teammates, and embraced what it means to wear Northern Ice across her chest.

This season wasn’t just about wins and losses—it was about learning, growing, competing with class, and building a culture where teammates become family. Every player contributed in her own way, and together they built something special that will carry forward long after the final out.

A heartfelt thank you to our parents, families, grandparents, siblings, and friends. Your countless miles on the road, early mornings, late nights, cheers from the stands, encouragement after tough losses, and celebrations after big wins made this season possible. Your unwavering support gave these girls every opportunity to chase their dreams, and we are grateful for each and every one of you.

To our players: thank you for trusting each other, pushing one another to improve, and embracing the Northern Ice way. The friendships, memories, and lessons you’ve created this season will last far beyond the softball field.

Day 2 is in the books, and the girls answered the challenge!

Northern Ice battled their way to a 2-0 day, continuing their run through the National Championship bracket and earning another shot on Saturday.

Now it’s time to lock in once again.
