4 weeks. 2 days per week.

This block will focus on explosiveness, jumping, reactivity, and speed.

Summer is the best time to build athleticism before fall sports start back up. The athlete you're competing against is already putting in work.

Promotion/Placement Day tonight!

These athletes have worked their butts off the past few months. This block was focused on agility, balance, body control, and movement quality and they improved a TON.

Proud of the effort, attitude, and consistency they brought every week. Excited to recognize the work they’ve put in and see them move up tonight. 💪

High school athletes this summer:

Force = Power.
Power = Speed.

Speed, jumping, quickness, explosiveness, cutting, all of it comes back to one thing:

Can you push the ground away HARD and FAST?

That’s why
- Strength training matters.
- Sprint work matters.
- Jumps matter.
- Movement matters.

Weights alone don’t build athletes.
Running fast alone doesn’t build athletes.

Strength + movement + explosiveness…
THAT builds athletes.

Younger athletes: (Under 13)

MOVE. A LOT.

Sprint. Jump. Skip. Shuffle. Climb. Crawl.
Bodyweight work. Footwork.

Play multiple sports.
Young athletes need to learn how to move before anything else.

The athlete you line up across from, wrestle against, or compete against this fall
is already working.

The best time to start training was yesterday.
Next best time is Today!

Because nobody ever taught them HOW to eat for performance.

So I put together a simple Athlete Fuel Guide for middle school and high school athletes.

This is NOT a meal plan.
And I’m not a nutritionist.

Most people think young athletes only need to “play more.”

Science says otherwise.

If a young athlete wants to get faster, jump higher, move better, and become more athletic…
they need to train those things directly.

Here’s why jump training and explosive training matter for young athletes:

1. Kids learn movement best when they’re young.
The brain and body learn movement skills faster during childhood.

This is one of the BEST times to improve:
• Coordination
• Balance
• Reaction time
• Running form
• Body control
• Speed

These things become harder to improve later if they are never trained early.

2. Jump training teaches athletes how to create power.
Jumping helps athletes learn how to produce force quickly.

That matters in almost every sport:
• Sprinting
• Cutting
• Jumping
• Tackling
• Throwing
• Hitting

Athletes who can produce force faster usually move better and play faster.

3. Explosive training improves speed and agility.
Studies continue to show explosive training can improve:
• Sprint speed
• Vertical jump
• Change of direction
• Balance
• Quick reactions

This type of training teaches the body how to absorb force and explode quickly.

That is a huge part of sports movement.

4. Learning how to land matters too.
Good training is NOT just about jumping higher.

Athletes also need to learn:
• How to slow down correctly
• How to land safely
• How to control their body
• How to stay balanced under speed

Learning these skills can help athletes move better and put less stress on their knees and ankles.

5. Playing sports alone usually isn’t enough.
Games and practices help athletes learn their sport.

Athletic training helps athletes improve:
• Speed
• Coordination
• Explosiveness
• Balance
• Body control
• Movement skills

Those things are not always trained during regular practices.

That’s why movement training should be part of EVERY athlete’s development not just something extra.
