Today is Parkinson's Resource meeting here at the Village. The guest speaker is from Urban Health. He will talk about Chiropractic care, massage, sport medicine and EMG/newve studies. Also Libby Kennard from Parkinson's resource in Eugene will be here as well. Everyone is invited to attend for free, however there is limited seating.

Thank you Rock Steady Boxing International HQ!!!!

Last night, the Rock Steady Boxing family stood proudly with Christine Timberlake (Director of Training and Education at Rock Steady Boxing HQ), Scott Newman (Co-Founder of Rock Steady Boxing), and Kristy Follmar (Co-Founder of Rock Steady Boxing) as they were presented the Sagamore of the Wabash Award from Joe Heerens of the Governor's office. This prestigious award is the highest honor bestowed by the Governor's office for service to the state of Indiana.

Thank you for the dedication you have given to Rock Steady Boxing and the Parkinson's community!

Conn has lived at the Village for one year as of July 3rd. His recovery has been amazing. He arrived here from Mercy Hospital, after a call from them stating they were sending him to the mission is the morning. He was unable to speak, walk, loaded with meds from antipsychotics, depression, GERD, high blood pressure and only the clothes on his back. His recovery has been the most incredible journey I have ever experienced. Thank you for all of the support my family and friends have been to Conn. Miracles do and have happened all around us. Keep us in your prayers as he learns how to speak again.

Spent part of Friday spending time relaxing and enjoying the wonderful company at Delfino Vineyards & Winery. The wine this the best yet!!! I feel like I have come home. Thank you Terri for opening up again.

What a great week it has been. First was the seminar on PTSD and caregiving at the Cancer Center. What a success!! I think I will do it again soon, so many people needing help. Let me know if you know someone who would be interested in learning how to cope with the stress of either being the one cared for or the caregiver.
