RACE 101

RACE 101 RACE 101: We are an educational program for racers. We offer classes and services to help understand RACE 101 was the brainchild of Tony Blanchard.

He developed a racing school designed to assist aspiring racers by providing a rounded education in the field of motorsports. The school has evolved to a full race team including an ARCA entry, super late models, and many other race cars. Tony Blanchard works for various race car drivers to help them achieve their goals in the ultra-competitive field of motorsports.

We are all setup for the Piedmont Racing Expo today and tomorrow, we will have technical data and information about all of these items. If you see something you want to know more about come see us and ask. We can be hired for our services but we mainly want to help racers at this show. Our 1 hour seminars will be at 6pm on Friday and 2pm on Saturday, if there is a lot of response we may add more throughout the weekend as well.

Drivers if you want to go fast Tony Blanchard is the man to call. In 2010 I was not running well Johnny Walker Motorsports gave me Tonys number! It was one of the best calls I ever made . Tony and I became great friends he built me two sets of shocks. Over the next 2 years I won 20 features! This man will get you on a rail! Thanks for all your help Tony and Race 101 ..... Tim sigmon

Dyno your shocks for just 25$

Since I had such a large response yesterday, I have decided to offer a baseline sale. We will test a set of "4" shocks for $25 dollars plus return shipping. Bring or ship your shocks to get a baseline for any vehicle. Asphalt or dirt. Circle track, Drag , or any division. I also offer classes if you want to learn more about your shocks and how to read the graphs.

RACE 101 is the education location to help racers in their area of need. Whether you have just started, or are a seasoned veteran, we are here to assist you with our equipment and experience.

Let's start with some basic shock info. Some tracks have a budget minded shock rule. So if you run in those classes, you should not take things for granted. Mass produced shocks have to fall in a percentage of error to be economically mass produced. Here are some pictures comparing some shocks. The graph with the two shocks almost identical are custom shocks for comparison. The other two show "off the shelf" shocks. This is not to change the rules. It is to show that all shocks should be tested and especially "off the shelf"shocks. The argument that shocks give a competitive edge is correct. The fact of keeping cost down is good, is correct also. But be sure to understand that testing and documentation of what is working for the future is important. That way you can repeat your performance or determine the cause why you're not. We have several adapters to test stock mounted shocks. Let us help you if we can. Each photo has a caption to explain what the graphs are.
