I would first like to say thank you to all of the players and parents that have reached out already, the support has been awesome. We were informed that if a teacher in the building applies to be the coach, then contractually they must be offered it. There are a lot of people hurting right now. We all felt like we were heading in the right direction and it's a helpless feeling to not be able to follow through with it. I would also like to thank all of the families associated with the youth program. The youth program is what I'm most proud of over the last 2 years as we essentially created a youth program from scratch and ended up with some of the most participation in the state for a school our size. It was a pleasure to be able to work with the 86 youth families that currently play youth basketball. I know that I will get another opportunity somewhere, but I hurt for our players knowing that we will not be able to turn this program around together when we felt we were close to doing so. Once again, I cannot thank everyone enough for the support.

Sign up for boys basketball youth camp! Our 4-day camp will be June 24-27 and place an emphasis on development of skills, such as shooting, ball-handling, passing, defense, and team play. Camp will be directed by high school coaching staff with involvement from high school players. There will be many individual and team competitions for each age group, such as 5 on 5 champions, 1 on 1
champion, hot shot champion, and free throw champion. We had an OUTSTANDING turnout at last year’s camp and we look forward to another year.

Congratulations to freshman Blake Mullaly on breaking the school record for FT% in a season (86%), previously held by Jason Burrell in 1993. Blake also made the most 3-pointers of any Rover post-2000.

Congratulations to each of our youth teams that capped off successful seasons with championship game appearances yesterday. Both of our 5th Grade teams won championships and our 3rd Grade team was Gold bracket runner-ups. Our 6th Graders also advanced to the semifinals in their tournament.
