In my mind š§, my Instagram captions can go one of two ways - witty and funny OR dark and brooding. I think I always go with the former. Since the blackest thing Iām wearing are my Crocs, letās go with the latter on this one š!
Here I sit⦠upon the throne of Washed Up, surrounded by the broken statues of those who were washed up before me, their gold sheen fades. My people. Broken and washed up. I donāt know who they are, but they seem really cool!
Damn, not great at this⦠SO SOME FACTS!
It has been nearly 4 months since my car accident - I donāt want to air out all the details to the public, but essentially I was struck in the front driverās side by another driver (who was going very fast)⦠who was struck by another driver. Itās complicated to explain and as I said I do not want to get into it too much. Either way, I was hit at a high speed while not moving and spun.
Fortunately, everyone involved was able to walk away from the scene. I was shaking on the side of the highway but felt I was physically alright (adrenaline is insane).
I decided to go to the hospital anyway⦠just because you donāt have bones sticking out and can still stand doesnāt mean youāre fine. Very glad I did, as I was definitely not fine. The hospital ran scans and found multiple back injuries (which once again, I will not get into on here).
Four months later, I am still in pain, have many restrictions of what I can and canāt do, have issues standing, sitting, and laying for different periods of time. I have been out of work and super bummed I canāt be full speed ahead on my musical dreams (as I have been for the past 10 years now). I have seen multiple specialists and been in physical therapy for months. As of the past few months, I have received a few epidural directions directly into my spinal discs (if thatās what theyāre technically called? š¤·š»āāļø)
I donāt think I will ever be back to šÆ but I do think I am FINALLY starting to see progress thanks to the genius of modern science and techniques. Beyond grateful for everyone involved in my recovery and those who have wished me well. I probably shouldnāt even be able to walk right now, so⦠life is awesome!
