Ice Fishing Outlook

Ice fishing is finished statewide. Lakes are open, and any remaining ice at elevation is unsafe. It’s fully open water from here on out.

Open Water Fishing

Fishing is turning on across the state. Tailwaters and spring creeks are producing well with midges, baetis, and small nymphs, and streamer fishing is picking up as fish become more active. Runoff is beginning to build, especially in freestone rivers during the afternoons, so water clarity can change quickly. Mornings are your best window for stable conditions.
