Today was a great day. Hampshire Trojan Cross Country hosted a runners camp today through the parks and rec. These young runners got to experience a little bit of what it's like to train at the high school level. They played some fun games like red light, green light, amazing race and some relays. It was alot of fun.

We had a beautiful morning for a run. Fair week is always tough to get runs in for the kids that show animals. Organizing runs with others helps with some motivation. Wyatt enjoyed a nice run with a great group of young runners. Official practices will be starting soon and summer is winding down. Be sure to come out & support these runners during their cross country season.

Reminder: we're meeting outside the pig barn area at the fairgrounds tomorrow morning at 8am for a group run.

Due to the forecast of rain and severe storms this evening, we will cancel our group run for this evening. Stay safe. We will still have our run Friday morning at 8am.

We are watching the weather closely for tomorrow evening. There's a chance of thunderstorms for most of the evening. I'll make an announcement around lunch time tomorrow about our group run.

As of right now, the plan is to get together at the fairgrounds on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm. Let's meet at the fence that surrounds the soccer fields where the goals are located.

On Friday we'll run at 8am and we'll meet up right outside the pig barn at the fairgrounds. This is a great opportunity to encourage our youth that participate in cross country and 4H. Having a group to run with makes it much easier to get motivated to get those miles in.

We're going to try something a little different for this week. There are several kids that are runners that have livestock at the fair. We want to try to have a group run on Tuesday and Friday at the fairgrounds. Tuesday morning is the hog show and Tuesday evening there is a truck & tractor pull so I'm not sure how it will work but we'll do our best to find a safe place to run. Friday we want to try to run in the morning since there's no livestock show. We'll add more details once we get something finalized.

Whether you’re thinking about joining your school team or just love to run, this camp is designed to help young athletes build confidence, improve fitness, and have a blast with friends.
